Violets

The first sweet violets of spring have appeared...
This little paper soap box came from the Marche aux Puces de Saint Quen-Porte de Clignancourt in Paris.... I bought it when we were there eleven years ago...

My Nana had lovely hankies like this one...
...I find these irresistible at the flea market!

Violets...sweet little gifts of spring!

I love violets! Earlier today I posted a picture of the wild ones growing in my yard! I love the picture of the violets in the glass vase with the cotton lace tied around it. So simple and so pretty!

Violets have to be the prettiest and daintiest flower. I have some of my grandmother's china that have violets on them and really treasure them.

I love the wild violets sprinkled throughout the lawn ~ I pick a few and use an egg cup as a vase :-) Your violet pictures are so pretty.

I just meandered out into the woods around our cabin this week and picked a bouquet of purple violets. I also found some pristine white ones, yellow ones and a very pale lavender variety. We are so blessed to have these in abundance in our woods. They are also bittersweet reminders of my precious Mother who had oodles of them in her yard and would always have me a fresh little bouquet of them picked for me when I went over to her house.

violets are special! do you know how to take some petals off a violet and expose a lady sitting and soaking her feet in a bowl? i love showing kids this. Bestest,Denise i wish i could recall who told that to me as a child.

Gorgeous - I have always adored violets! They grew near my parents house and your post brought back memories of picking tiny bouquets for my mother as a child! Lovely...xo Terri

Bee-You-Tee-Full! This post brings such sweet memories of being a little girl. My mama loved violets and had so many little pots of these delightful little flowers in different spots all over our house! Thanks....
