Sparkle,Shimmer and Shine

This morning  I woke up to the delicious smell of coffee brewing
and the sound of Mr. Flea strumming his guitar.
I love that.
When I walked into the kitchen
the sun was streaming through the window
and lit up my little silver tree...it was positively glowing.

This tiny tree is for the littlest angels.

I'm not really done with it....
just keep adding shiny bits as I find them about the house.

This beautiful blue beaded butterfly
flew all the way here to me from Italy...
It is one of a pair that my dear friend Walter sent me.
You may remember, that Walter and I met through blogging
and a year ago when we visited Venice...
...he met us and took us to the flea market at la Corte dei Miracoli.

This October, at that very same flea market,
Walter purchased these lovely butterflies just for me.
He knew how much I love blue...
...what he didn't know is
that ever since my Mom's passing...
whenever I see a butterfly I think of her.
I think of all that she taught me
and how much she loved and supported me.
So, thank you Walter!

And thanks to all my other blogger friends
for your support and friendship this year!

A Few Good Finds

Found some clear glass items this weekend...
...my favorite is this old English medicine jar with this interesting latch system on top...

Here are two old clear glass dog candy containers...
...love that Scottie!

...a pretty little creamer with a touch of gold and hint of green...

The bottom of the medicine jar says...
Davies & Geck, Inc. Patent applied for
Trademark Recd in US & Gr Britian
New York, London

An assortment of old silver and silver plate spoons

If anyone knows anything about Hallmarks and silver...

...let me know what you think about these old pieces!

...a great assortment of tinware...
muffin tins and pans.

The larger muffin tins are marked US 1941.

There were more tins too...
...just didn't have time to clean them up for photos yet!

Also found were some linens and lace....
...have to save some pictures for later on in the week!

Tomorrow my Mom and Dad leave for a few days so I will be getting ready for the July 4th crowds and hopefully have time to work on my art projects too!

I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend!

Silver Spoons....Everyday!

These are my parents' everyday spoons........yes, when you eat your Rice Krispies at their home....you will use one of these beautiful antique sterling silver spoons that were passed down from my great aunts to my Dad and Mom.......there are more of them than shown here but when I was taking the picture some were sitting in the kitchen sink waiting to be washed....why?....because Mom and Dad use them every day....for everything from stirring their morning coffee to eating their dish of ice cream before bed. If you look close you can see the months of the year....complete with the astrological sign and corresponding flower. I just love these pretty spoons and I love the fact that my parents are enjoying and using their precious heirlooms and can appreciate them each and every day......I think I'm ready for some chocolate ice-cream.
