Recent Junking Finds

Hello friends...
Today I have been attempting to create my
 52 FLEA Facebook page
which is connected to my regular personal  FB page.
I have no idea what I am doing.

Ruth from The Beautiful Life
was gracious enough to guide me a bit...
...but, I am a slow learner and a bit timid in these techie things.
( I wonder how I managed for so long in the corporate world !)
I really like junking, styling, blogging and photography much better!

Anyway...
I am hoping that when I publish this little post
that it will appear on my 52 FLEA Facebook page.

Which is here:

So, really...this is a test!
:)
If you have time and you visit there...
...please let me know of any suggestions you may have for me.
And if you want to...you can like me...
(gee...that sounds pitiful).
But what's even more pitiful is... right now it shows that I only have one friend...
...and that is my sweet 19 year old nephew Joe.
He loves his Aunt Laura.
Make no mistake...Joe's not pitiful...
..he's totally awesome...and brilliant and tall and handsome too! :)
But...one friend?
so sad.

And the other thing I have been working on
is my Etsy shop and my Blog shop.
They are all set up and ready to go.
Why have I not opened them, you may ask?
I have no idea.
I am not sure exactly why I am hanging back.
Is it because I am afraid you won't like my junk?
Is it because I am having trouble letting go of my junk?
Am I afraid of commitment?

I just don't know.
I guess I need shop therapy....
or shock therapy.
I used to use shopping as therapy...but that's not the same thing.

Anyway....just so you know where my head is at!
All the little things pictured here
were picked up at last week's flea market.

So that's my story for today.
What's yours?
:)

Dear Laura,
I love absolutely EVERYTHING that you found and bought at the flea market. I have the silver bird....it was my mum and dad's.
Love the old box, the childrens bricks, the silver purse(?), the bowl and the enamelware. I would have bought all of it if I'd been there !!!!
Will you be shipping things to England from your Etsy shop ? If so, can you hurry up and get it open !!!!!! haha.
Have a lovely week Laura. XXXX

Thanks for the good laugh today Laura. You crack me up sometimes : )
I know your shop will be awesome if you can get yourself to let go of this cool 'stuff'. That's something I just don't know if I could do...coming from a lady who still has clothes hanging in her closet from the 80's!
I will get over to your page and like you...because I DO like you!!!!
love to you...

I know exactly how you feel about facebook,I've just set up a page and am plundering through, I have 1 like :( so I think we should stick together and like each other and we can be sad together ;) I'll pop over in a mo and like you. Please have a go at Etsy, I do and though it's not mad crazy I do sell some things but I should make more of an effort. Suzy x

Ok, it's me again. This is just to prove what a novice I am at facebook, but can you tell me what do you have to do to like someone. Been to your page and couldn't figure it out! What a dunce hey! x

Great finds, Laura!

And I *LOVE* that you admitted that you don't know what you're doing in setting up a FB business page...me neither! That's why I never had one. Maybe Ruth can help us both!!!

XO,
Anne

I don't do FB, but if I did I would definitely "friend" you. Love you recent finds!

I recently set up my business FB page. I might be able to help...To the person that didn't know how to "like" there should be a tab at the upper right of the page that says like. Just click it and it should change to liked and that's all.

Facebook, Twitter, installing apps...all of that stuff drives me NUTS! I simply don't have the patience for it! The only reason I have a FB page is because my daughter got so frustrated that I didn't have one, she sat down in front of my computer and started barking out questions and set mine up. My son put the photos on. :)

Great finds Laura! I like the hunting part much better than the selling part too!

Your shop will be a big success, I have no doubt! I don't understand Facebook really but it seems the thing to do. I can't even keep up with blogging:)

Dear Laura, I cannot bring myself to start a FB page for my blog so you are making long strides. I know FB is the way of the culture I am just not certain I am going the same way. Maybe that is not a good business decision but I do not sell online only in actual stores at this point. The techie stuff comes to me as I am forced to learn it and it seems I am forced to learn at least once a week. I look at your blog all the time even if I do not comment frequently and like you lots. Hi Laura,
Lovely finds! I just love the blue enamel ware and the peacock, etc!
I totally know what you mean about your etsy shop and blog shop. I've been dawdling about doing the same thing. We must just do it, I guess!
Have a happy week,

Beautiful finds! I love all of them.

Don't worry about friends on FB, they will come ( I liked your page). I also struggled to set up my FB page and Etsy shop and it was frustrating but after you become familiar with the workings of both it gets easier. Trust me, I'm no techie either!

Now, if only we can get FB and Blogger to leave things alone!!

Hi Laura - I still don't have facebook, so you are much more techie than me!! And, my blog is barely 3 months old.

I love following your blog as it is always a visual treat!! Your styling and photography are awesome, as I've said many times. And, your treasures and finds are always charming and unique.

Heading over to your facebook page, although I don't have an account. We'll see if I can access your FB site......Loi

Laura, I'm excited to see your new Etsy shop when it opens! I've been selling on Etsy for about 3 years and it has not stopped being FUN! Please email me your address and I'll send you a review copy of a book I worked on, called Etsy 101. It might just give you the last little push you need to open up that store!

It's wonderful that you have a Facebook page. I must admit that's where I am if I have time for social media, although I do love your blog. I collect all sorts of vintage stuff too. Too much, actually, because I can't resist garage sales, flea markets and boot sales, (I spend part of the year in England) So I've "liked" you right away.

Hi Laura, I've just stumbled across your blog and I too am having great difficulties getting my fb to happen. when I make a comment or like something my profile pic is non existant... I'm only new to blogging too and still no followers. I wont give up though as I'm just enjoying the whole process of documenting my days and learning about adding gadgets and stuff... all fun!
love your blog x

I'm not much of a techie either. Like you all I want to do is go junking, taking pics and decorating with my finds. I "liked" your FB page and am now following you on Pinterest. I have loved your blog since the first time I visited! Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

I recently opened an Etsy store and had been wanting to as well for a long time and been putting it off. It's a commitment. It's hard to sell things that you would love to have in your house instead!! But you have to treasure shop with a different mind set. You are shopping for someone else to love! Good luck. You can do it! You will sell out the first day because we will all shop there!!!!

This is hilarious. Thanks for verbalizing all of the doubts and fears and hesitations and over-thinking that all of us have and do as we navigate our online lives. Sweet post and great finds!

Hi Laura-- don't be mad-- but I'm laughing---- because I've been there!! It took me forever to set up the facebook page for my blog-- doing that is totally different than setting up a personal page-- I just did not understand that though!! Anyway-- I'll check out your page and happily be your "friend"!!

Your etsy shop will be a huge success- you already have such a fan base- I say go for it sister! You will totally rock! You know what they say-- one persons junk is another persons treasure!
