I almost didn't go this week as there was a 40% chance of rain.
But, I said to myself...
"Self, get up you lazy thing...even if it is 5 a.m."
40% rain means 60% sunshine.
And...you know what?
There wasn't a drop of rain!
I had a great time...just me, myself and I.
Here's a bit of what I saw...
A lovely lady was selling her collection of vintage tin ware.
It wasn't until I was walking past her booth again on the way out
that I saw her "1/2 off sign".
That made me take a closer look!
She was doing what I should be doing!
Getting rid of things....
So, I helped her.
These two must have been mud wrestlers...
Among other odds and ends...
I bought a tall pot of the most beautiful French tarragon
from the Herb Man...
See anything interesting?
So glad I got out of bed!
Hope you had a good weekend too.
What an awesome day it must have been...
We don't have "flea markets" here, so much...
Wishin' we did...all the kind of stuff I love...
I saw many interesting things. Definitely would be worth getting up at the crack of dawn. Love the green cupboard with the bread box on top!
What fun!! Lots of things to LOOK at....I am trying so hard not to add unless I can subtract!!! Not easy!
So many things with which to make a fabulous 'shabby' display. No flea markets like that in my neck of the woods either, but do have a favourite auction house in Sydney where I used to find treasures, but they never go cheap.
You crack me up! Did you buy the green suitcase? I purchased a vintage bundt pan 2 wks ago :) 1/2 price is even better!
Wow, that's some great stuff! Are you in Florida or home? And would you mind telling me what kind of camera you use? Your photos are always gorgeous!
Looks like it was worth waking up early for! And I cracked up at the mud wrestling dolls.
Have a great week!
Oh lord yes, quite a few things I would have bought but 5am.....I'm not so sure!
What a treasure trove. The roses under the glass dome...what is that? It's really neat!
Do you recall how much the green cupboard was? I just bought a very similar one in white. Just curious.
Wish I was where you were this weekend! Looks like it was an amazing show. Hope you got lots of those goodies in the pictures!
Thanks for sharing! - Sarah, Barn Chic Antiques
What fun. Loved it all.
Looks like you saw alot of fun things...except those dolls (scary). What did you end up buying?? I saw so many things that I would have wanted.
Hope you are having a great week
OH my, yes...I could have done some serious damage there! What a fabulous sale...so many wonderful goodies!!
So many beautiful treasures. I love the suitcase and the ironstone platter.
Your flea market had some amazing treasures!!~
Those bottles in the first photos are wonderful!
So glad you went and had such a lovely time.
Have a great week.
Love this post. Great pictures! I feel like I got to tag along with you! And it was so nice of you to help the lovely lady part with her tin collection.... I can be very helpful, myself!
That was so very nice of you to help that woman out with her half-off tin items! Hee Hee!
I want that folk art needle hooked rug of the sheep!
What a great flea market you have!
What a great FLEA! Wish I were there! From one sweetie to another...Roxie
Oh I saw all kinds of loot I would have loved to have had, bottles, canisters, crates~Cheers Kim
OH Laura, if only i was there with you i would help that lady too!! those tin looks so nice!!!! Glad you enjoy it!!
I would have spent a LOT of money. The suitcase is beautiful, the crates, shelves, linen, and although I wouldn't have bought it, the baby scales are very sweet. xx
Oh, I think I saw something I'd like in every single picture! I'd have to get a second job if I lived where they held sales like that!!!
What amazing treasures! So many wonderful finds!
I'm glad you went too so that you could share them with us!
Have a wonderful week
Such awesome stuff...haven't seen anything like this at our local flea markets
You were very right to get out of bed early despite the weather forecast! You have the most wonderful flea markets over there, they look much better than over here or in France!
Have a nice day,
I would get up early too. I's say almost every photo you showed me I wanted something. What a great sale.
Thanks for sharing.
OMG Laura you snapped a photo of my husband, pushing my Grandaughter in a carriage! LOL Love looking at all of your photos of the market. To answer your question about the pillars I picked up...I boought them from the market up the street from me on Saturday, not ET. Glad you had fun!
Capers of the vintage vixens
I just sat here with my jaw hanging open.
I think I have a SERIOUS case of flea market envy.
Loving that green cabinet! Exactly what I've been looking for!
Love the little tea towels stitched in red! What a wonderful day!
oh I want that seltzer bottle and that ocean art
Tons of stuff...darn wish I had gotten up with you!
oh!!! I want to come!
zazdroszczę, takie cudowności
Oh my goodness! So many grand finds! I do think that the flea markets in the US are less expensive, and more vast than in the UK.
Yummy yummy yummy!!! I would have rashly bought the blue (looks French) birdie transferware platter. Was this Elephants Trunk? And wow! I thot I had taken a wrong turn with your new beautiful header.
Just drooled all over my keyboard looking at those french white/red flour, sugar tins… and those hats!
Dear Laura, this must be a dream...can?t be there are such markets anywhere in the world......I am so amazed over all those GORGEOUS things,- and have to pinch myself for you being so lucky to have seen all this in one market place :-)
Thankyou for your so sweet comment-
I think I loved something in every picture...wow, what a lucky girl you are!
I so wish I would have got out of bed on Sunday...Love that private sign.
Yes I did see something interesting... several somethings, in fact! I really love the angel.
And the old lace. What a great day you had! ::Jill
I'm swooning over all those goodies! I would have snatched up that Private sign in a heartbeat!
there are soooo many wonderful things!!!!! But I would have liked the green hutch for the porch. Maybe I should have gotten out of bed at 5:00 am. Have to go soon for Pete's heirloom tomato plants that he is growing for me. I bet that tarragon came from him too.
Now I wonder what came home with you. Good stuff for sure!
Love ya and 'll call you this week.
Gosh, I saw lots I liked! I loooove that angel statue! What great patina! The dolls, however, look kind of scary.
What a great day you had! That is MY KIND OF SALE! There are MANY things I would have liked. Aren't you so glad you got up early? :)
Happy Spring Ya'll from Houston,TX
The striped lawn chair did it for me! Always enjoy the pics from fleas you visit. Thanks for taking the time.
Looks like an awesome market - so much great stuff. Wish we had fleas like this over here.
Love flea markets..just rarely ever get to go to one. I enjoyed your walk through this morning.
Wow, what a great flea market! I think those red and white canisters and those games would have had to come home with me for the right price!
Wow, made me think of the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market which is gigantic! So many things...I especially like the faded blue old bicycle built for two....I wonder why?:)
OH I need that so bad, going to a great flea market, my heart is beating really fast just seeing the pictures
I am going to plan on a trip somewhere this summer to a great flea market
any advice Missouri people?
How kind of you to 'help her'! Love the bottles in the first pic and would definitely have bought the private sign! one day you and I should definitely go hunting at dawn together!
I'm broke from shopping at that flea market!
I want it ALL! But especially the roses (a bridal bouquet?) under the cloche...love that...
What a great day!
Oh yes I did...I loved that awesome pile of old water faucets! I love things like that. I loved seeing all the great things you saw at the flea Laura.
Thank you so much for your sweet note. You really are so kind to me. I was so excited about being asked to be in AB and a lot shocked too : )
sending big hugs...
I keep envying you these lovely flea market experiences :)
I'm swooning over that suitcase, and the green hutch. I keep throwing money at the screen but nothing is happening!
