Among the more unusual finds this weekend was a box full of lab glass...
It was at the sale in the school across the street.
It looks pretty sweet with my Yale lab table.
Add to that my set of lab tubes that I found a few weeks ago at the thrift store...
I have used them to sort my buttons...
...and then another zip lock bag full of skinnier lab tubes...
Have you seen the article about altered tubes in the current issue of Somerset Life?
Now I know what to do with my finds!
I loved this issue .... so many clever ideas!
... so the set of lab tubes that I bought at the thrift store weren't from a lab but from Dean & Deluca....
...they once held all kinds of herbs and flavorings...
They fit well though!
I don't think I will be doing any chemistry or physics experiments anyway.
Mr. Flea was not impressed with my lab work.
He still doesn't like my old Yale lab table.
Oh well! I thought it was rather fun.
More show and tell finds to share tomorrow...
Have a wonderful evening!
What a great find!
Laura, I love the lab glass jars and tubes! I am always on the look-out for these but rarely find any. The ones I have found are very expensive. Congrats on these great finds.
if it makes us happy,i think it's the way to go, right? Bestest,Denise
That is such a nifty fine! I love those buttons in those tubes! Very clever!
I love them too!!
I love the lab glass. I could have so much fun storing beads in those tubes. Great finds!
I love your table!
school sales are the best, you never know what will turn up.
Oh Laura .. i love that table.. I remember you dear friends gave it to you.. and the lab glass Is fab.. I have to say I'd be pretty pleased to have Dean & Deluca test tubes.. considering we don't have Dean & Delacu here.. the first time I heard of them was a tv show I used to watch.. name??? come on.. what was it??? girl with long curly hair?? haha can't remember... Ok.. have a lovely day xxx Julie
'your' dear friends.. not 'you' dear friends.. got blogger typo disease today..
Laura...you just find the best stuff...love it!
I love your lab finds. I saw that article in Somerset magazine about altered tubes and I thought it was a great idea....and your buttons look great in the glass tubes.
Love those buttons in the test tubes, what a great way to see what you have. Florence
I love them!!!... The Science teacher is having a baby at our school and I'd thought of using all the lab equipment as vases and such, for the shower. I think it will be very cool. If my school ever gets rid of their slate lab tables I will so be at the auction! I already have my eye on a beveled glass Nurse's cabinet they've shoved off in an ole' forgotten corner. Lezlee
Love them, and I wish I had been there to purchase them. I started a collection 20 years ago at least. Enjoy!
Explosive!!!! wonderful find. I love that you stacked your buttons in the test tubes. Cutest idea all day.
Where do you live?
I want to come rob you!
Love the lab table! :-)

Just wonderful, Laura!
My husband is a chemistry/physics teacher, so we have a ready supply of all that cool stuff! :-)

You are way cool with all the lab set up. Now you need a white lab coat to sit and create in :)
I can see you now! just looking all medical and creating :]

Laura, I do love your "lab work". All that stuff brings back a lot of memories for me, since I trained as a scientist. I think the Yale table is perfect for displaying your great lab finds!

I LOVE your Yale table and have a few like that myself - and love the chippy look! I managed to score some very old lab test tubes with the numbers etc hand etched into the sides. They have been holiding my wee bits and pieces for a while now.
