The Model

When Kate was a baby.....about 22 years ago....I dressed her up in some vintage baby clothes and staged a little scene with some miniature quilts made by my mother in law and some antique children's props...She was a sweet little model and let me take some pictures...

Wasn't she dear?

Look at those innocent eyes...those chubby little cheeks....

Look at her now....at 23....a fashion model....a college graduate....an artist....an adventurer.....
No longer my innocent baby....but a beautiful young woman...full of fun and looking forward to a bright and promising future....

I always say that blogging is like picking flowers. You start at a friend's garden, walking from flower to flower, picking those which struck your eyes and your spirit, and as soon as you know you are far far from where you started yet still at home. Your home is a lovely one. This post is even lovelier. How heart expanding to see one's little girl flourish this way. I bet she's as proud of you as your words show you are of her. I started at Anne Marie's Na-da Farm who led me to Carole's Maynard Greenhouse, who in turn opened the gate to your beautiful garden.
What a pleasure your place is!

I love how the baby pictures have that kind of faded look - it adds to the old-fashioned feel.

i've just discovered your blog and really like it I will be coming back for a really good read,
in the meantime ,

the discrepancies (spelling?) between your given age and that of your daughters has been noted ?
Is someone telling fibs?

That picture of her as a baby is sooo cute! It really looks vintage. I was going to say she looks like a model and then I read your caption!

Kate was such a precious baby, and she is now a beautiful young woman! I can tell you are quite proud of her, Laura. ;)

And now I know we have YET one more thing in common. My daughter modeled until she got married and had my granddaughter. The picture I have of her in my sidebar was one of her modeling pics. Our children are even close in ages - my son, Joshua, is 27 and my daughter, Asheley, is 24.

Uncanny similarities, huh?!

Blessings,
