Simple Things

Simple things...
...make my heart sing!

Tomorrow night we expect a snow storm!
Do you know what that means?

It means Saturday morning we will sleep in (at least till 7am...)
...drink several cups of steaming hot coffee and be cozy and warm...

Then Santa Baby a.k.a. Mr. 52 a.k.a. Rob... will go out to play in the snow (er...shovel a little)
... and maybe...instead of doing chores...
I will bake a little, craft a little and make some Valentine magic...

What makes your heart sing?

Yard Sale Finds

This morning I went to a few yard sales in my mother's neighborhood and found some old sheet music to be used in my art work (if my husband doesn't rescue them first......he is a musician and gets upset when he sees me with my scissors)....also some red twine, a brass bell and a used flower identification book. Not much today but tomorrow I will be heading to Webster to the flea markets...I'm itching to see what I will find! I will take pictures.....anything special you want me to look for?

Grey on a Sunny Day

It was a beautiful sunny morning so I decided to take some treasures outside to take advantage of the light and try to get some pictures. This is my Santos....found her in Chester, CT while shopping with Paula....I just love her....all in tones of grey.
The pillow cover is one of a pair that I recently bought from Carol at Raised In Cotton....I just love her blog and online shop.

The silver plate dish was just the right size for my 3 blue cloth "eggs", which now look like peas in a pod! The white leather gloves were 25 cents a pair at the thrift store this week...The black French clogs are wonderfully worn and dancing on the old sheet music. I just love the way her big brothers are touching their little sister in the old photograph. The French seed packets were a lucky find on Ebay. The Wedding Pure Rye Whiskey bottle was begging to be dressed as a bride! I had such fun playing with my goodies to try to make pleasing vignettes......................lots of greys and soft pinks. Hope you enjoyed the show!

Music and Candlelight

Dressing up some candles with old sheet music, ribbon, lace and antique buttons.
