Red Ripe Cherries

Memorial Day weekend is here!
The beginning of summer...
Red, ripe, juicy cherries are at the market!

Thanks for all the suggestions for my altered change purse necklace!
It turned out that a little weight in the bottom allows the purse to stay upright...
so I'm back on track as long as I can live with the clasp not closing.

It's time to open the camp at the lake!

What are you doing this weekend?

I hope it is fun and involves family and friends!

Corn on the Cob

Last night there were 16 of us ... we had a cookout which included the most delicious corn on the cob....don't you just love August when the tomatoes are so red and ripe, the peaches are in season and the corn is to die for?

This is a set of old dishes from Italy that include a serving platter, small individual plates, a salt and pepper and butter pitcher....all with a realistic corn motif....

It is raining today and Mother Nature seems to be saying....time to go home Laura...your week is over....back to the office tomorrow...

I hate to go....it has been so relaxing and so much fun with family coming and going all week..Here is a picture of our lake house in the 1930's.....that is my mother standing with my grandparents....The house looks different now...we have added a kitchen and bathroom to the back and a dormer upstairs...The place is in dire need of a coat of paint so I will wait until that job is accomplished before I show an updated picture....

Before I leave....does anyone want the last cherry?
Hope the week ahead is full of all good things....
:) Laura
