The Natural World

Soft neutrals, worn and faded browns, beige....a touch of green...
....and information....interesting facts and endless knowledge about our natural world....

Like so many of us I have a fascination with it all....the complexity of nature....the incomparable beauty of the natural world ....it seems we are never satisfied with our quest for information and have so many books stacked about our camp....at the ready for us or any visitor to delve in and discover some new fact about a bird we saw or the flowers along the trail on a recent hike... we keep maps of the Adirondacks and history books of the area easily accessible....It is here, in these mountains that we may have the time to read and follow these interests....

Nests, feathers, mushrooms, seashells, fossils, flowers and fauna.....perhaps it seems like a never ending science class.....

But somehow.....having all these books about....bringing the outside in...all serve to create a sense of connection to our world and beyond...

Lovely tiles....soft muted tones....

And then there is this attraction to the mundane..the useful...the little things that serve us in our everyday life...

There are many of us who recognize and enjoy the simple beauty of the humble everyday object...

A few found vintage rosaries....well worn meaningful treasures from someone's past...encouraging thoughts on my own personal and spiritual quest....

And here....some green vintage tags from Fowler's.....a dry goods store that dates back to the 1800's in the Adirondack town of Glens Falls, NY......a different time, a different place...

History, nature....our spiritual selves....there is so much to discover....
