Haunted Antique Doll Factory

 Warning!
This post is spooky!

Not long ago, I wandered into a booth in an antique center that was filled with these decrepit and rusty molds from an old doll factory..

It was a strange and eerie sight...

It reminded me of Frankenstein with all the nuts and bolts...

Quite chilling with all these disjointed appendages...

I stayed long enough to take these pictures...
...knowing they would be perfect for Halloween.

...and then I got the heck out of there!

BOO!
I hope you have a Happy Halloween weekend!

...from now on it will be all sunshine and goodness!

Tomorrow is my Mom's 83rd birthday and we are planning a special celebration!

Scary Titles

Just starting to decorate a bit for Halloween.

I try to keep the scary decorations to a minimum as I get spooked easily...

OOooooooo

As usual, I use stacks of books with scary titles and pull different items from around the house that when arranged might provide a suggestion of the macabre...

Boo!

Disturbing Collages for the Season

Antique Victorian hand and an old glass door knob

Continuing to frighten myself by creating spooky vignettes with flea market finds and bits and pieces of my oddball collections......

The inside of a Victorian era velvet hat, old silver-plate pieces and the top of an old fabric covered tea caddy

An interesting antique glass bottle with remnants of....embalming fluid...
(who would buy such a thing?)....click on image to enlarge and read the writing...
... and several scary titled black books from my scary titles collection.

White Cotton crocheted gloves....
...with a heart sewn from antique quilt pieces and a white tin heart on an old book cover

Won't it be lovely when Halloween is over?
fraidycat :)

Over Active Imagination

This pair of gold leaf bookends was found at the thrift store this week for $2.50....they are marked Made in Italy on the bottom....
As I looked over my flea market finds and collections this weekend....my imagination got caught up in the eerie and uncomfortable season of late October and Halloween...

Unusual objects came together to tell their own haunting story...

I think I am scaring myself.

Scary Titles

So, we have already established that Halloween isn't my favorite holiday...
...But I do love to decorate and change my little vignettes according to the season....
I guess it's because I'm such a book lover...collecting them not only for content but for color and decorative appeal as well...
...that it was only a matter of time before I started collecting scary titles for Halloween props.
(click image to read the titles!)

Look at this spooky set of Edgar Allan Poe volumes...

You have to love this title!

Some old tin types provide rather ghostly images...

Scarlet Sister Mary.....what can that be about?

Now these two books are seriously scary....especially for a good Christian girl...
...this fraidycat won't be reading these anytime soon...

Maybe I should put some of the beautiful religious medals found in those cigar boxes with these books to provide a little balance!

...and Poof!
....she disappeared!
