Collecting and Selling

Hello, my name is Laura.

I'm better at collecting than I am at selling.

I often have seller's remorse.

...that's all I can share today.

I know I'm better at collecting than selling because it is so hard for me to part with things I love!

okcamp said...: Ah, something to ponder....I have few regrets about the things I have done, but I agonize over the things I didn't do. In the end, the material objects are just 'stuff,' and are more meaningful to you than they ever will be to the person who has to deal with them when you're gone. Not much consolation, I'm afraid. Hope I'm not too mordid, but I do this for a living. LOL.

okcamp said...: Actually, let me articulate....I don't regret buying the things I have bought. Even if later, I decide I don't want to keep them, I can always sell them, even if at a loss. I do have regrets about several things I didn't buy. Like the antique Swedish painted headboard with some minor damage for $70 at our local Goodwill. And it seems for those things...I am constantly on the 'lookout' for them, even though the chances of ever coming across them are slim to nothing.
It's all part of the game, I think. Win some, lose some. It still hurts though. Maybe it's just better to dwell on the fab things we've found, and leave the rest be.

Unless you have a huge mansion, something has to leave.
It is also a good feeling to have room for something new, and to let something old go, to be enjoyed by someone else.

But yes--same problem here--but I do more often regret not buying something than parting ways with things I love. Seeing how thrilled someone is with something they purchased from my shop makes my day!

Carole said...: Hey little birdy! I must be different because once it's gone I never think about it. There is always more out in this big world. Think of all the space you are freeing up without the clutter too sweety.
You are not the only one with a baker at home. G just made me cupcakes to die for with choc cream sauce.
But I am happy for you and Rob that he is developing his inner baker.

Bohemian said...: Seller's Remorse certainly is more torturous than Buyer's Remorse. Because you can always Sell what you decide you don't wanna keep and in hindsight was a bad decision to purchase... but to sell what you regret letting go of, that's tough, no upside to that! Hope it wasn't too painful a Release? I too am much better at Collecting than Selling, but I'm striving to become equally good at both. *Winks*
