Gather...Again!

It was nearly two weeks ago that I visited Deanna
 at GATHER in Ivoryton, CT.
I arrived early to Paula's home and as she was still at work
decided to scoot over to the shop.

Every time I visit GATHER it seems that there is a
 new and fabulous look...
....it is changed up with great new merchandise...
...interesting finds and wonderful gifts.

... beautiful glassware

...lots of blue and white this time.
Isn't this a great old German canister?

While there, Deanna showed me this fabulous box
of vintage lace that she had just come across.

It was so much fun to go through it and find
beautiful lace bibs and collars...all sorts of things.

She pulled out one of her fabulous dress forms
 (not for sale...I already asked)
 and we began to play.

...so much fun!!

There were many other things to look at too...
...I loved this lustreware pitcher.

...and this beautiful covered dish.

Here are a few slightly grainy shots of the place...
...just so you can get a feeling for the size and scope
 of this amazing store!

I know I've told you before...
...but GATHER is truly a place where this little community
 comes together.
While I was there Samantha, a very young friend stopped in
to say hi and get a piece of penny candy.
Deanna has a huge section for kids...
...lots of candy and fun little toys.

Samantha got Deanna's full attention
as she related her day at school.
Deanna gives everyone that walks into the shop
a big welcome and makes everyone feel special.

Even pets are welcome at GATHER.
A neighbor with two kids and two dogs came in
and the little pups made a mad dash to see Deanna.
She promptly made them sit
and then rewarded each with a dog treat.

Fortunately, I didn't have to perform any tricks
but I was treated to a delicious coffee
and an old fashioned whoopie pie.

A gentleman came in and bought a fresh baguette
on his way home from work.
There were scones and other delicacies to choose from too.

Truly, a something for everyone, one stop shopping type place.

I obviously enjoyed my visit with Deanna
 and shopping at GATHER.
If you are ever in the area...stop in...
Deanna will surely welcome you with open arms
and probably a yummy whoopie pie too!
:)

Tomorrow... I fly home to Mr. Flea :)

Next up...
Our afternoon at Taken For Granite in Stony Creek.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

What am I grateful for today?
I'm grateful that my husband's eyesight isn't as good as it used to be...
...he doesn't seem to notice his wife is getting older!
Oh...and Julia's homemade cheesecake.

So many beautiful things and the vignettes are so lovely. I think her shop exudes warmth and is so inviting that I could spend hours in there. She sounds like such a warm and kind person. :)

Dear Laura,
Fabulous shop! This is the kind of small business I love to support and visit. Personal, warm and with a point of view. Love Deanna's copper lustreware pieces.
Thanks for another tour of Gather :)
Cheers from DC,
Loi

Laura,
I just googled the location for Gather. It is just off of Rte I95. I will definitely visit the next time I am up in CT. We are always near that area / passing through. I'll be sure to tell Deanna I want a whoopie pie :)
