Summer Fades Into Autumn

The temperatures here at the lake have fallen...
there were frost warnings last night.

Dad and I wore gloves and warm coats
as we took our walk early this morning.
It is yard sale weekend here in our tiny Adirondack town.
You know what they say about the early bird!
:)

We took a long drive north and were treated to
clear skies and beautiful views of the mountains.
The leaves are starting to turn
and bits of gold and red shone in the sun.

It is much quieter these days at the lake.
I am feeling so grateful for the peacefulness, the beauty around us,
and time to appreciate it all with my Dad.

Hoping to get a few projects done tomorrow...
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
:)

Hi Laura - so glad you are making some special times with your Dad - you both need that - and it is priceless~~

We are having some drastic changes in temperatures here too - 30's last night - ugh - I know what is just around the corner. Keeping my fingers crossed for one last fling of summer~~

My favorite is the picture of the lake.
I will dream a few minutes.

I don't know about you, Laura, but I am thrilled with the drop in temperature! It has been a long, hot summer here at my place. ;)

How wonderful that you are able to spend so much time with your dad. With every passing day, I'm confronted with the fact that my parents' time here on earth is growing short. I want to cherish each moment I still have with them.

Enjoy your peace and solitude at the lake!

Blessings,

Dear Lauras,
Enjoy life in the slow lane with your family, and how lovely to be able to walk in such beautiful countryside.
I can feel Autumn approaching here as there is a slight chill in the mornings and the leaves are starting to turn.
....and how lovely to have so much quality time with your dad. XXXX
