Simple Gifts

Bits and pieces of the lyrics of that old Shaker song have been going 'round in my head all day today...
'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.

'Tis the gift to have friends and a true friend to be,
'Tis the gift to think of others not to only think of "me"
And when we hear what others really think and really feel,
Then we'll all live together with a love that is real.

Trying to keep it simple this holiday season.
Trying to be a true friend.
Trying to listen.

I'm all about simple this year, it wouldn't bother me to not buy one gift in a "box store", I'm into handmade this year!

Keeping it simple can be a real struggle, can't it? But being a good friend, being a good listener, is one of the best gifts you can give anyone...this time of year, or any time.
I think you're a wonderful friend!

As simple as wrapping up a package with a little brown paper and kitchen twine and a rosehip from the garden! Beautifully expressed, with simplicity!

So beautiful, so true! My son's wedding left our budget tight this season - no complaints at all - we're thrilled to have a new "daughter" - so I am making a lot of gifts and thinking of as many heart filled ways to let people know how much they mean to me - you have the right idea -thank you for the beautiful words - they meant a lot Jennifer
