Home and Garden Tour....13 Nilsen Residence

This 1855 historic federal home was purchased by the current owners in 2008.....

I loved the color of the blue painted porch ceiling!

The home has unusual architectural and decorative features.....the ornate dentil moldings and woodwork were painstakingly painted in several colors...it took years to complete....

The ceilings were silk screened.....also, a little difficult to see in this picture...but the doors beyond the chandelier disclose L shaped stairs....one going up and one going down....hence the different heights to the doors.....

The owners renovated the kitchen and bathrooms.

The landscape included a large weeping Birch.....

This whimsical camel sculpture stands guard outside the home....

Carole of Maynard Greenhouse shot the moose under the tree.....

Just one more house and garden on the tour to follow....

I love this home! Someone told my sister that the blue shade on the porch keeps the wasps from making nests. Not sure if that's true, but she did it and never had any wasps.
