Threads

Someone's hands wound these threads onto handmade cardboard squares....or around paper scraps....the colors are mostly neutrals....natural browns, taupe, cream or green....

There is something so soothing and comforting about these seemingly benign objects....

Is it the thought of the warm and weathered hands of my Nana working with her needle and thread?

Loving the script of the old letter re-purposed to keep the tangled threads in order....

How can something so utilitarian, so simple.... be so utterly beautiful?

I wish you all a calm and peaceful evening....

I hope these images bring a certain peace to you as they have to me......

The thread is very calming...life in this world just 50...or 52 years ago seems it was a different time...a time that will never come back! As farms and farmland make way for housing developments with no yard or trees!
The last of the cool roadside barns are falling down!
Your blog and pictures are a comfort....thank you!

Blessings,
Georgiann

PS Did you get a chance to see Notting Hill again?
