Can you believe this weather in the northeast US? It's been raining all week with no let up in sight.....and here all the flowering trees and bushes are at their peak.....the lilac bushes are full, bending toward the ground with their heavy purple blossoms. The buds on the azaleas have all burst open and are bright pink and beautiful...... If the sun were shining it would be a spectacular sight... Oh what a difference the sunshine makes.....
But, on the other hand.....isn't pink and gray a pretty color combination?
With or without the sunshine.....our world is full of beauty....we just have to look a little harder on a rainy day.....

lovely....LOVELY!!.... I personally, prefer taking pictures on a foggy or cloudy day.....there is so much mysterious romance in a picture like that - we are having THE BEST weather lately - 60* right now - and I'm headin' off to bed with the windows open and my summer 'frock' on :)
It is funny because when I first saw the title of this post, I quickly assumed you must be here in the {gray, dark, rainy, cold, and quite honestly crappy} pacific northwest. Where is spring, I ask you???
Thank you for finding more beauty in gray - I love it, especially when it accompanies sunshine... xo
Lovely photos...pink and grey is a beautiful cambination.. I love pink.. It`s raining and blowing here too... I wish you a lovely day with or whitout sun... Hugs Kerstin
This is such a beautiful post! And a wonderful blog! The colors are all so different than what I'm used to ~ but it's all so very appealing! Dawn at The Feathered Nest mentioned you on her blog. I'm so glad I visited!!
Hi I really like your photos and I love dogwoods too. You and I own the same wire cloche! I like the mercury bird in yours...my toddler often puts his Thomas the Train in mine! :)
That is a great color combination I love pink and grey! I bought a cosmetic bag set from Victoria Secret in pink and grey stripes it is so stinking cute. :) LOL I love that wire dome!
I have taken, and viewed, an awful lot of pink blossom and blue skies photos this spring. Your take on pink and grey is really refreshing, so thanks! Of course I understand that the skies are not so refreshing for you - if it makes you feel better, we have having a rainy national holiday today here in the south of France.
Hi Laura, Love, love, love that wire cloche and all your photos. You make me remember I'd better go get my old watering can out of the gardening shed and prop it up for a photo shoot. Very inspiring as usual - merci! xo~Tracie
Hey Laura, I just love dogwoods...reminds me of the old house I grew up in where we had 3 big trees outside our kitchen door. Sad I don't have any now....you know the saying the cobbler kids have no shoes...or in this case, no dogwoods!
Very pretty together. As soon as I saw your first photo, I thought of elderly folks and newborn babies. Gray and pink. From one end of the spectrum to the other. Brenda
I like your pictures very much. They are beautiful. Even on a rainy day. I see very often on your blog, but do not always comment. Have a nice weekend greets Lia

To live content with small means.... To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion.... To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich.... To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly.... To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart.... To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never.... In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.... ...........this is to be my symphony.
Thank you to all the kindred spirits and kind souls who take the time to leave a comment......Your support and encouragement are deeply appreciated.....I read each and every message and as time allows, do my best to reply.

What lovely pictures of the dogwoods! I don't think we have dogwoods in California. I do miss them in the spring.
