More From Evi's Holiday Home

Here we are in Evi's pretty dining room.

Each place setting had a glittered letter
so we ladies knew just where to sit.
And each chair had a pair of antique stockings
tied with ribbons and greens to its back.

With twig place mats and green leafy salad bowls...
...it made for a beautifully natural and rustic setting.

Another Santa created by Evi.

Even her beautiful kitchen was decorated with greens
a midst the vintage kitchen collectibles.

...above her stove

...above the spiral staircase which leads down to her studio
 and the family room.

...and even in the bathroom...
...there are beautiful touches of glitter and Christmas
 along with Evi's signature look...
which combines European elegance with a touch of whimsy.

Downstairs in the family room...Evi showcases her antique toys
and collection of vintage children's clothes.

The downstairs bathroom includes charming Christmas vignettes too! I love this collection of bottle brush trees.

The home of  doll maker Evi is especially charming
 at Christmas time!

I hope you are enjoying this tour of Evi's holiday home.

There is more to come, however...
I am currently posting from a location with very limited and extremely slow internet access.
It is hard to tell if these photos are really this grainy
or if the appearance here is due to my poor connection!

I will try to bring you the rest over the next few days.
Thank you so much for your comments...
...I knew you would enjoy seeing Evi's home dressed
 for the holidays  again!

Evi's Holiday Home

Our visit to Evi's holiday home was all that we expected it to be.
Her gorgeous home was decorated for Christmas with neutral tones,
a European flair and lots of natural elements.

It was a beautiful day
and the light streamed through the windows in the sun room.
Everything in Evi's home appears light and airy, fresh and clean.
Every detail is perfect
and the overall effect is charming and welcoming.

I was a few minutes early and took these photos
before the rest of the girls arrived.
Enjoy the tour...

One of Evi's wonderful Santas.

Last year Evi made this pillow with antique children's stockings
...it rests on this bench at one end of the living room.

A trio of fluffy owls rest in the barbed wire wreath over the mantel.

A beautiful centerpiece sat on top of the old wood table
which sits between the two love seats.
Later on in the afternoon...
it was covered with gifts, ribbons and wrapping paper.

Her tree was filled with beautiful ornaments...
...many of them antique.

There are many more photos to share...
...and I will do so over the next few days.
I hope you enjoyed this first glimpse!

It was a fabulous day...
Evi treated us like royalty...
...we had a delicious lunch of quiches and salads,
with plates full of home baked cookies,
an amazing lingonberry chocolate cake and a pear tart.

I enjoyed every minute visiting with the girls
and can't believe how fast the afternoon went by!

Well, we have only walked through two rooms in this post...
...much more to come!

Looking Forward To...

Tomorrow is a day I have been looking forward to....
I am headed to Evi's home for a luncheon and get together
with our friends Paula, Debbie, Deanna and Carole.

Evi spoils us terribly and we will be treated to a delicious lunch which will surely include a few of her special baked goodies
and a beautifully, still decorated for Christmas home!

And then...this week will take me to just outside Chicago
to visit and help out my sister Lynn with some packing.

We plan to have some fun while I'm there too...
...so if you know of any fabulous shops or flea markets
in the vicinity of Lake Bluff...please let me know! :)

I hope that you are all off to a good start to the New Year...
...now back to watching Downton Abbey!
...

Stay tuned for some photos of Evi's home and luncheon!
:)
