NYC Shopping

My title is a bit misleading...this is really yet another Anthro post...
Visited Kate on Friday and we did a little shopping....guess where we ended up?

Isn't this wallpaper clock fun?

Silvery votive holders in several vibrant colors...

Fabulous stove and other antiques mixed in...used as display pieces but also for sale...
Although I stop by my local Anthro very often...and the merchandise is pretty much the same...the displays are unique and different in each store....

Great lighting...

I liked this vintage green industrial piece staged as a coffee table in front of a sofa filled with fun and funky pillows...

Geez...I love Anthropologie displays...

This was taken inside the dressing room of Free People...
Kate was trying on sequin and sparkly dresses for her Halloween costume.
At 23, she looks stunning in everything!

It was fun to visit and spend time together...and a treat to visit my favorite store too!

Wish there was an Anthropologie in my part of the state! The closest one is a few hours away. We're getting an Urban Outfitters soon though...same company...maybe I can cross my fingers...:-) Sounds like you had a wonderful time...

Great photos! Do you watch "Man Shops Globe" on the Sundance Channel? It is a travelogue of the man who shops for the Anthropologie stores. It is on Wednesday night. He travels the world searching for unique merchandise for all the stores. Very interesting series. ~ Angela

I so wish there were an Anthropology store less than 300 miles away from me. Over Thanksgiving I am going to visit my daughter and we are going to the Plaza in Kansas City. And I can't wait to see the large Anthro there decorated for Christmas! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Love those votive holders and the metal topped jars, but that bicycle display is just awesome. They have some amazingly creative people do their displays! It's worth the trip just to see them!

Don't ya just LOVE NYC!!! Not to mention Anthro! Living in the 4th largest city in the US (Houston)...this is one of the advantages it has.

I was there in NYC too, I just loved it; the windows, their way of displaying, I took tons of photos and of course bought a little something too!

What a fantastic shop...I think that London is supposed to be getting an Anthropologie soon so I'd better start saving !
I could buy anything and everything that you have shown. Did you buy much ? I shouldn't think that you've got much more space at your house !.....and it's lovely going shopping with your daughter, isn't it ? XXXX

I had just a few hours to shop in NYC when I was visiting last Fall. Anthro wasn't on my list because I can go to them here in SoCal. But, when I walked by, I couldn't help myself. I LOVE that window display. Incredible. How do they do that? I've been told by the employees that they are given a theme and allowed to just go with it. How fun would that be? My girls always love it when we go in there together. Somehow they always luck out.

Hey Laura,
It's the other wallpaper that I'm crazy for. Looks like old pages from a farm book.

Thanks for the shopping trip to Anthropologie. Having lived in Manhattan for 20 years it was a frequent stop for me and it's fun to see how their decor still invokes that Vintage Style which many of us so love. I'll will be making a visit to the city for the holidays so i am sure i will pay a visit. Great post!
