Putting away all the zinc watering cans that line the deck and and sit in the garden at the lake...
Asking myself...
...."Can I sail through the changing ocean tides...
Can I handle the seasons of my life"...?
...and these are just the ones at the lake house...way too much of this stuff!
"Times they are a changin'".....
Maybe in 2010 I will begin to part with some of these things...maybe an Etsy vintage shop...Ebay...or a booth in an antique mall or maybe I can sell at shows and flea markets like we did back in the 70's....
"To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun"....
Finding my way!
:) Laura

I LOVE your blog and want to live 'in' it......I have Grandfather's garden watering can from way back when and I cherish it. When I vintage shop or flea market shop - it's something I'm on the look out for.
So where in the world - how in the world did you score? I LOVE it!!!
Truly, you're spot here is an inspiration. Keep up the great work.
You just send those babies to seattle my friend - you know I would take them off of your hands, to free up some of that time you are missing out on, having to put them all away. I am a good friend like that...
xx
i was going to say you could send those great watering cans to Florida...Seattle has too much rain to need that many cans! :o} If you do decide to lighten up the load, I'm sure there will be plenty of takers for your bevy of beauties! Have a great week *elaine*
Letting go and making changes is all part of the wonderful thing we call "life".....
Pretty deep huh?
xo.....Carole
What a great collection! And a really great tub! They look wonderful in your yard!
Happy Monday!
Hugs, Lisa
Great watering cans. Would love to see them displayed. Do you plant?
I have been trying a new philosophy of "use it or loose it", but there are just some items that make us happy to have a lot of! I have at least been planting stuff in some of my old cans that have fallen prey to rusty holes in the bottoms! Thanks for sharing part of your collection!
Susie
Love all the galvanized watering cans! You have an amazing collection. I finally sold off some of mine...just taking up way to much space on the back patio and front porch. They do get quite a tidy sum if sold ~ $40- $45. Txs again for sharing your lovely pictures!
As always you have drawn us all in ~ I love an old watering can! You and your blog are truly blessed! Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise. Maureen
i love the watering cans. i think all of your ideas are good ones. can't wait to hear what you decide. there is a time and a season.
blessings,

Collect, collect, collect...sell, sell, sell. I think we'll all be opening up shops soon! That is one VAST collection. Trish
Wow! I love the watering cans! I just completed the task of putting my outside treasures up for the season. I too had thoughts of streamlining...But hopefully tomorrow you will come to your senses and realize...I LOVE MY WATERING CANS and don't really want to sell them. It's just a temporary feeling that will pass. (I hope) Wishing you a very wonderful week...dj
I think that you are needing a bit of 'life laundry' Laura. It comes to us all...although, I'm the worlds worst for getting rid of things so I don't think that I would be much help.....and perhaps we shouldn't be buying more 'stuff' to add to the 'stuff' !!!! Love all of your zinc paraphanalia...don't get rid of it. See, I'm hopeless !!!! XXXX
Good luck deciding Laura! Have a lovely day!

Great watering can collection, Laura. How about setting up at Brimfield next year? - I'd make the effort to come all the way down to visit you there if you did.
We only have one of these watering-cans. Unfortunately you can't use it because of a great hole in the bottom. But I like it nevertheless!
These watering cans are delightful...how can you part with them? Sea Witch
Laura.... If you ever decide to part with any of them, do a blog post!! I bet you'll sell them all right through the blog! Myself included!! :)
I have one of the gigantic zinc troughs/dough bowls, and I love it! But I never know what to do with it, so it just sits propped up against a wall... Maybe it's just lonely and needs more zinc-friends for company... Hint hint!! :)
Lovely post!!
Ruth
Looking at your photos....If the yard were private, I probably would have jumped in the tub and had an outdoor bath just to celebrate life's changes on purpose. Your blog is beautiful :+)
We too are starting to whittle down our stuff, as we are going from two houses to one...however, there is always a home for one more watering can on the back porch of the old bungalow!
Hi Laura,
I understand what you're saying here. Being an old hunter/gatherer myself. It is a dilemma (sp?). What to keep? What to go? What to do? Your beautiful collections are such a part of your wonderful blog, and I imagine your life. No need to rush into any big deaccessioning. Take your time. Whatever you do wilol be special-because its you!
Cheers and love,
Marjorie
What a stall you would have, Laura! Keep us informed, because whatever you do, it will have your special touch...
Laura, I think you should open that shop so I can buy one of those lovely cans! I love your blog, please come see me soon!
Michelle
Hi Laura,
Love the watering cans. I just posted on my blog and I was saying how much I like zinc right now.
I would love it if you opened an Etsy shop or an ebay store.
Very fun, and another place for me to shop.
Have a great day!!
Rosemary
I'm sure your shop will be great!
Hugs, Traude
Laura,
I love your watering cans! Isn't zinc the best!! You would never have a problem getting those beauties sold BUT try and replace them, well that's another story! Love your blog!
My Best
Gale
I found you via a search for galvanized tubs. I had to tell you what an amazing tub you have. It is my DREAM to one day find one I can afford. I also love your watering cans. Very beautiful indeed!
Blessings,
Krystle
