Rummage Sale Plates

Another of my favorite finds at the annual community center rummage sale was a set of six pretty vintage plates...
...creamy white with lavender and white flowers...just a touch of yellow and a brown leaf...
There is a gold rim around the edge....
An unusual and interesting color combination...
They are lovingly worn but no chips or cracks.
So pretty.

It was a hot but clear day....
Enjoying the breeze off the lake this evening.

Dan headed back to school to continue studying for the BAR....
...it is still so hard to see him drive off.

Tomorrow I will be cleaning up after the gang is all gone...
Maybe there will be some time for art before the next family members arrive on Wednesday!

Stay cool!
:)

Oh how I miss good ole fashioned rummage sales. St. Joes in Lincoln Park, New Jersey always held a huge, annual rummage sale along with a community craft sale. My mom would work all year to creat items for this community fundraiser. She would come home with some really neat things and always a few pieces of vintage murano glass. You don't find rummage sales much any more so I enjoyed reading your post and seeing the treasures you came home with. Sea Witch

Hi Laura! I love old plates...especially ones with flowers on them and fancy edges. I don't know why that is but there is something very charming about them. Cottagey (is that a word?). It's always tough to see the kids leave after coming home for a while...all the best to you to keep busy and fill the void. Have a wonderful Monday....Maura :)
