Recognition and Gratitude

A few weeks ago I was asked by Jenny Doh to be a guest curator at Crescendoh.com.
Several guest curators each week are invited to share their unique and personal ART SAVES story and are asked to provide a few links each day to their favorite artistic blogs or sources of inspiration.

Tomorrow, Monday, begins my week as one of the guest curators at Crescendoh.com.
I am honored to have been asked to share my personal ART SAVES story...

My story has to do with my proclivity to be a worrier and how involving myself in artistic pursuits helps me to manage my worries. I wrote my story and sent it off to Jenny the night before Mothers Day...which is the day that I found out about my own mother's serious illness.

So now...I have earnestly begun to put my words into action as I have started working on a new art journal...one that is deeply personal. As I become absorbed in the process of creating... my journal has become a way to both express and manage my concerns for my mother. It is helping.

Please stop over at Crescendoh.com to read more ART SAVES stories and to see all the exciting happenings there.
... I promise you will find inspiration!

We have just returned from our son Daniel's graduation from law school.
After completing four years of college and three years of study at law school he has achieved his goal and earned the degree of Juris Doctorate.
Our entire family is so very proud of Dan and his achievements....
...and to top it all off....he is a wonderful and kind person...a true friend to many and a dear son. Congratulations Dan!

We are so grateful for you and for all our blessings!
:)

Congratulations to you and your family! It takes more than a student to accomplish great acedemic feats...it takes a family to suport the student as well.
So sorry to hear about your dear Mother's illness. My prayers are with her.
I'm wondering, now that you aren't 'retired', once you finish all the tasks you've set yourself, whether you'll decide to paint or some other artform. Long time ago, maybe last spring, you wrote about wanting to, but having no time. I hope you do...it seems to...I dunno, bring peace. **Tami

Hi Laura. Thank you so much for your hat tip to me, and I found your story so compelling and open and honest. I loved it. I'm sure it strikes a cord with many of us. Some born worriers (and summer camp worriers!) and others anxious over the enormity of mothering and adult challenges. I wish we could swap stories and borrowed sugar over a back fence, but being blog sisters will just have to do. And I'm so glad you won the Arte Pura contest...you have the magic touch! Gamble much? You should! XO Trish
