My beautiful Mom as a new mother! Still just as beautiful today!
Happy Mother's Day! I hope that your day is full of joy!
Beth of Gypsy Fish Journal is hosting Silver Sunday so I poked around to find a few more silver items... Above are two beautiful old silver serving spoons from my father's side of the family...
...a set of pretty monogrammed silver forks...
...and this is Gorham's Buttercup pattern. It was my husband's grandmother's pattern, it is his mother's pattern, his sister's pattern and it is my pattern too ... as that was our wedding gift from my in-laws. I love it and with four sets in the family we have every size dinner party covered!
Mr. Flea and I both have wonderful mothers who are still so active in their 80's and full of fun. Click here to see last years Mother's Day post ... the three of us had a ton of fun when we went to the flea market together!
Anyway I wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of you.....
...to those that have children... ... to those that want children, to those who nurture, to those who love.
To live content with small means.... To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion.... To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich.... To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly.... To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart.... To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never.... In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.... ...........this is to be my symphony.
Thank you to all the kindred spirits and kind souls who take the time to leave a comment......Your support and encouragement are deeply appreciated.....I read each and every message and as time allows, do my best to reply.
