Three Lilacs
Can you stand a few more pictures of my lilacs?
We are so fortunate to have my grandmother's lilacs from her farmhouse, my mother's double French lilacs and several white lilacs as well.
I cut some to bring inside...
All three varieties in one zinc container...
Their fragrance is so familiar...
...and brings lovely memories to mind.
Couldn't resist using my White Lilac Coffee Tin again this year...
I think that lilacs are such an old fashioned but very feminine flower...
...and look forward to these family heirlooms blooming each spring!
Well the weekend is here!
Mr. Flea is hoping to get some projects started and yard work done...
I was hoping to...well, you know what I was hoping to do!
How about you?
Do you have any exciting plans?
What's going on this weekend in your neighborhood?
:)

I adore lilacs, especially the old fashioned varieties because of the heavenly scent. I snipped a bouquet for my kitchen counter and the entire first floor of the house smelled like lilacs...heavenly. I love the photo of the lilacs in the galvanized container and the lilac coffee tin...amazing. Have a great weekend!
lilacs are always a good time fragrant old fashioned flower. well, my daughter and i garage saled today. it was a good time and we purchased useful things and this was my first sale of the summer and i am pleased with my purchases. tomorrow is a neighber hood party. each will bring a dish to pass and mine will be a corn, french beans and baby peas with onions, celery peppers and the sauce.it's kind of a salad. good weekend to every one.Bestest,Denise

My one and only lilac plant is young so we only had two blooms this year and they are spent already but I am looking forward to more each year. Next year I hope to have enough for cutting.
So wonderful that you have three generations of lilacs!!! How very special! Love your display too.
I never tire of beautiful flowers and heirlooms!!!
I plan to go to the dustbowl craft festival tomorrow then hunny do's on Sunday!!
I never get tired of looking at lilacs, your pictures are so beautiful I can almost smell them!

Beautiful Lilacs I can almost smell through the photos. Hope you get to do what you want. Florence
The scent of lilacs so reminds me of my grandmothers and my Mom. They all grew them and now I have some of the very same from their bushes. What a treasure to have 3 generations and that double is awesome.
We will be making lumber this weekend along with some primping of the flowerbeds.
have a lovely weekend
Oh Laura,
I can't get enough lilacs, love everything about them. We're doing yard work & playing tourist a little since it's a big wine tasting weekend around town and we just remembered Zeke's bday is tomorrow. Better do a bit of shopping tomorrow morning for the birthday pup. Happy weekend!

Carissima, devo ringraziarti per queste bellissime immagini...adoro il lillà!!!
Felice fine settimana, Anna.
Lilacs are such an wonderful old-fashioned flower, and even more special when your plant has past ties to family. My lilacs are from a start from my great aunt. The memories are as sweet as the flowers aroma.
Lilacs are lyrical - having a surprise birthday party for my brother - in- law - he turned 50!
Beautiful lilacs! I wonder if I could try to grow them here in a container maybe? Love your photos.
I LOVE lilacs...mine are getting ready to bloom, too! I garage saled today with some fun finds, but it is supposed to rain tomorrow so I may just have a lazy day at home!
Lilacs are so very pretty. And your photographs, well they are always amazing. If you don't mind, I'd love to use one of the photos as my desktop background for a little while, pretty please?!?
I love lilacs!
I cannpt believe they are in bloom already, we still have at least another month to go before they are in bloom. Our trees have no leaves yet!
I´ve seen mouse-ears on some...so there is hope.
I was planning to attend a recykling-event, called the recykling-factory, there´s flea-markets, workshops, exhebitions...it takes place in an old factory.
Hi - the lilacs are just beautiful - is it just me or is there some superstition about putting lilacs in vases in kitchens??!! Its quite likely just me...
Could never get tired of Lilacs, so gorgeous. I just took pics of mine yesterday, couldn't resist their beauty. Your Lilacs are so pretty.
Lilacs are my favorite! I love the beauties you have shared here today. Our new place (lived here six weeks today) looks out at our neighbors lilacs...so I am happy! :) One of the best places to see lilacs is Mackinac Island, Michigan in June....heaven! :)
Your lilac photos are incredibly beautiful, Laura. There can never be too many lilacs! p.s. ours are still not blooming yet...
They're one of my favorites too, along with violets, hydrangeas, hyacinths, forget-me-nots, daisies and sunflowers.
Your photos should be in Victoria magazine!
Diane
Yes, I enjoy the lilac photos and I like the white in the "white lilac" container.
Ours have not bloomed. I must have pruned incorrectly last year so I will have to wait until next year.
Love the Lilacs, Laura! They are gorgeous! I am at the beach for a little getaway. Enjoying the sunshine and breeze off the ocean. Have a blessed day and I could never tire of those beautiful lilacs!
HI Laura, your lilacs are gorgeous and the photos are so beautiful. Too cold here for any yard work and no flowers happening. Thanks for sharing.

They are so beautiful and smell so nice as well. In the first year in our house the lilac was flowring a lot but then my gardener just cut it too much and for the 2nd year they are not flowering!!!!!
You could post pictures of your lilacs everyday and I'd sit and look at them. They are gorgeous, I just wish I could smell them now!
Your pictures are beautiful. I just cut a bunch of lilacs for my kitchen yesterday in all three colors. Love the smell that permeates the house! Off to some barn sales today to see what treasure I can bring home! Hope your weekend is lovely!

All through the winter I read from you and your followers how you were wishing for Spring and for the drab gray winter blues t0 vanish. Those were my glorious days here in Miami, Florida.
December through April is when we enjoy the outdoors, we enjoy our flowers, our gardens and backyards. December through April is when we barbecue, ride bikes, visit world-famous Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Vizcaya, the Deering Estate, the Kampong and the Everglades. It's when we fully enjoy brocantes.
Now that the rest of the country is enjoying lilacs (they don't grow here), we in South Florida begin closing our windows, turning on the a/c and enjoying our bromeliads and bougainvilleas.
So please, keep posting pictures of your lilacs, telling us about their scent, and blogging about your vintage finds. I love every word in every comment!
Your tropical friend,
Ana Maria
