Vintage Christmas Monday

It was a beautiful morning at the flea market...clear and cold...we were all wrapped up in our scarves and held onto our hot coffee cups to warm our fingers...
I found these vintage ornaments and thought I would share them with you in their "as found" condition for this first Vintage Christmas Monday!
(I'm a bit early but wanted to play along......I am off to bed and then a full day of work tomorrow so this is my early contribution to this blog party! )

I kept this little tinsel nest under a glass cloche all year... now it has an antique golden "egg" and "twigs" of vintage glass beads...

A vintage red bird flew over to sit on the tinsel nest...

You may remember this post done back in September...these pretty vintage turquoise ornaments (perhaps teal or aqua?) are normally sitting in a pretty blown glass jar in the dining room (to admire all year long).
...(click here to see Touch of Turquoise post)

I have been collecting vintage Christmas items for as long as I can remember and can't wait to start digging through the boxes in the attic to share some more with you next Monday. To see more participants in Vintage Christmas Monday visit Joan of Anthing Goes Here.
This will be fun!
Looking forward to a short work week because of the Thanksgiving holiday...
...I'm thankful for THAT!
:)

I love vintage Christmas decorations. Thanks for sharing some of yours this week and I look forward to seeing what else you are going to show us.
I was looking through some earlier posts and am quite jealous of some of your recent vintage finds. I am always looking for old journals and can never seem to find one...and the clock parts...I love them!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Your vintage red bird....so reminds me of my childhood Christmas's ...I wished I had sense enough to have asked my parents for all those wonderful old ornaments, but I am sure they just threw them out when they moved to Indiana.

Oh, lovely, lovely old ornaments - they are so special - seems so many of us covet them. I am following in love with the color aqua or as you say, turquoise, hard to say sometimes. Anyway I'm gathering just bit to add to my silver ornaments and a few pink that I have. Thanks for showing us all your pretties. I signed up as a follower last week I think. I just read your previous post and my goodness, you do have some wonderful friends in the blog world. I'm quite sure they would not have been such a blessing to you unless you had been a real blessing to them through your delightful blog.

Cone see me and I'd be honored if you'd follow me also...

Your vintage ornaments touch my heart. It seems as though today people just give away or toss out their ornaments and do something different to stay with the trend. The old ornaments have heart because they were held on by families for many years, loved and cherished.
Have a wonderful week and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Laura
Love all your vintage christmas decorations
But you know me.. particularly the turquoise, teal, aqua ones!!

You've just reminded me.. that I have a box of vintage decorations 'somewhere' unless they were lost or given away.. I'll have to look for them.

Thanks for your comment over my way. The bike incident luckily left no bruises hehe just a crazy thing to happen right before the 1st run.

Take care and I hope to get back and say Happy Thanksgiving before the weekend. if not.. Happy Thanksgiving.. We don't celebrate it here but I am thankful for my new blogging friends. xx Julie

ooh aah! I love vintage ornaments. I made the mistake of passing on some at a garage sale. What was I thinking? It must have been the lack of coffee.

These are so pretty. I've never come across Christmas decorations as nice as these at flea markets. If you don't mind me asking, how much do they typically cost?
