The Adoption
I found this sweet, tiny little Steiff kitty at the flea market...
She seemed to want to come home with me...
Isn't she dear? She looked a little lost...
Starla! No! Be careful....that's a Steiff!
But I need not have worried.
Starla sniffed the little kitty and licked her on the top of her head...
And then she claimed her as her own...
She guarded her...
protected her...
and seemed to reassure the little kitty that she would take care of her...
and then she took a little nap with her...
I think it was love at first sight.
Starla never had a kitten of her own.
Now she does.

Oh my, I think that is the cutest thing I have ever seen, how sweet! Aren't you generous, to let her have a Steiff!!! Hahaha...... that just made me laugh, of course she loved it, she's been taking lessons on how to collect!!!!
Hugs,
Margaret B
Isn't that so funny. Your cat is beautiful and your new Steiff kitty precious. I had a cat once who only wanted to play with the stuffed kitty out of all the other stuffed animals in my daughter's bedroom - she knew, just like yours does!
I am so glad that little kitty came home with you I think she will be welcomed by you and your Kitty cat. What a darling addition to your home (:
Hugs, Diane
Oh Laura, that is the most precious thing I have ever seen! What a sweet kitty you have, now she has a kitten of her own... my kitty Pumpkin who is in kitty heaven now used to carry a little "pumpkin" ball in her mouth and yowl and then lay it at our feet... our vet said she thought it was her kitten, for real! How sweet they are! I am still looking for a little Steiff squirrel like yours... I do have a cute vintage Steiff bunny... love to you... xoxo Julie Marie
Oh my, I think I am tearing up! Starla is so sweet looking and I believe that she really does love that little kitten. I have two sweet kitties pictured on my blog and I love the cute things that they do. My older cat has a toy called "wormie," that she treats like a baby. Aren't they precious?
Well, that was so sweet... it just about made me cry:) Love that little kitty, actually both of them. Thanks for sharing these sweet pictures!
SA-Weet!
Great pictures....just adorable.:o)
Starla needed a little buddy to protect and sleep with! How sweet is that?
Kathy
Gorgeous kitties!! What a pair of sweeties xo
Starla has expensive taste. Such sweet photos sure to bring a smile! ~ Angela
Awwww... how cute is that?!
Isn't that the best? Our dog, Scooter, adopted a rubber carrot as her child....this is certainly cuter. Scooter attachment was kind of weird.
Oh....that is so very, very darling..you have made Starla SO happy and content...she will be a wonderful mother to her new "kitty."~~please keep us up with the continuing saga of those two. ~~ promise ??~~

She's precious!
Funny how our animals know the things we love and protect them. You could show me pictures of Starla everyday and my heart would melt everytime. Cute post!

Oh Laura, cats are so funny, aren't they. Mine used to do the funniest things and I loved them for it. I really miss them.
Your two seem to be the best of friends so you have probably lost your Stieff kitten now !
Have a lovely week, Laura. XXXX
Too sweet! You couldn't have asked for better photos.
Laura,
Those two sweet kitties together - how dear is that.
Marjorie
Laura, that is the sweetest adoption story I've ever seen! They look so happy together.
My mom emailed me to check out your post...I'm glad she did, how cute!
Okay...sorry, but not a cat lover here. BUT--this is PRECIOUS!!!
Now, give me a panther or a lioness and then I can say how much I LOVE cats! (gotta be the Muskogee in me ya think?)

your starla looks so loving and sweet. she seems to be very content. both kitties are keepers. Bestest,Denise
Laura what an adorable post, I would show it to my girls but then I would hear it forever how we need to get a kitten :) being there are 2 of us in this house with allergies and asthma, the kitten issue is forever ongoing :)But still...looking at the pictures of your pretty kittens made my heart smile..Rose
i love this post. what an adorable story. the perfect antidote to the last hour of googling (is that a word?) venomous house spider bites.
this is just what i needed to read to take my mind off of the big spiders lurking in my basement.
maybe i need to throw them a steiff wolf spider baby so they won't use their fangs to bite me!! lol.
you kitties are super sweet and i adore that your starla took on a toy cat. that is why steiff animals are so adored....because they are as close to real as you can get. sweetness.
take care

Magique...

What beautiful photos, as always. How lucky you were to find a Steiff kitty, it's really beautiful. The photos of the kitty with your cat are great and so full of tenderness. Absolutely wonderful !
Oh my - my heart is leaping! The sweetest thing I've seen in a long time. ♥
Adorable post! The Steiff kitty was a fabulous find ~ no wonder your sweet cat "adopted" it right away :-)
Ok...chill bumps...that is the cutest ever! Ahhhhh.

Starla is sooooo cute. I have 6 kitties, all the same color as Starla, and all females. Some days I have my hands full.

oh how sweet..I think many of us have been touched by Starla and her new darling..
Such an adorable new kitty... such a sweet blog post! Love all the photos!!
Honestly Laura, that is the cutest thing I have ever seen. You did not promise too much when we talked. It is different from the kitty Peter had when he was a baby-so cute!!!!!!!!! What a find! Missed you yesterday, but will see you on Saturday.
Lots of hugs,
Evi
Steiff is a label we humans put on it... to Starla its a new friend to wing around the house and leave lying on the floor 'till you happen upon it in the middle of the night on your way to the bathroom.
Susan
Oh that is the cutest thing ever!

Ahhhh.. SO cute! I'm not so sure my kitty would show the same amount of love and affection. Beautiful pictures.
Oh I love it!!! This is just great!!! Your kitties are the greatest!
Hugs, Lisa
Laura, I am loving me some kitties tonight. So cute. What a great find this Steiff is.
Hugs,
June
Ohhhhhhhhh, cute
That's darling. So glad Starla has her own kitty now to keep her company - so cute.
What a sweet kitty. Losing a pet is so hard. I cried like a baby when I had to put down 'mouse.' She had been in our family for fifteen years. After a month of vet visits we finally decided that treatment was futile and that she had suffered enough.
Mouse also had a toy: an adorable little gray mouse in a pink tutu about the size as Starla's Steiff. She'd hold it in her paws and we'd play a game of trying to take it away from her. That never ended well (for us).
My condolences.
this post about your precious Starla melted my heart..she is so precious with the baby steiff kitty. RIP Starla xo
