Anyway I love the look of this bag.
The only problem is...
I don't use it!
I 've been using the same little, leather, cross body strap bag
that I bought on sale at Anthro 4 years ago.
I use this same little purse every single day!
(so boring)
I no longer switch out with my other purses.
I guess it's because I am not going to the office any longer
and my little Anthro purse is a hands free wonder with a nifty
pocket for my point and shoot camera and cell phone.
And, I'm lazy.
It goes well with my jeans and sweater uniform.
It's small and light and the perfect bag to take to flea markets.
And, I'm lazy.
So this very cool bag sits in my closet unused.
What does this have to do with you?
What does this have to do with my 800th post?
...or the fact that tomorrow is the happy anniversary
of the wedding of Mr. Flea and me?
Well,
Here is my idea.
To celebrate 800 posts
and Mr. Flea and me...
I will fill this awesome Vagabond purse with vintage treasures
and send it to one random and very lucky winner!
You may ask, "what will she put inside?"
The answer is ... it depends on who the winner is.
If she likes vintage sewing things or art supplies
or ephemera or...well, you get the idea!
I will search through my vintage treasures
and tailor the contents to the winner's interests.

Wow! What a response! Almost like getting a busy signal when hoping to win something by being the "52nd" caller at a radio station. Lovely gesture, Laura, and I couldn't help but enter as that purse is really neat but I would definitely use it as a home decoration to hold something pretty (like dried flowers maybe) as I carry a wallet when I go out. As far as contents go, there's something about small old books that I will always be drawn to and, since I am an artist, anything art-related would be very special to me. I fondly remember that porcelain paint palette you happened upon at one of your flea market trips (can't remember if you bought it or not). I think it might have been on your trip to Venice this year. Anyway, it's fun to enter my chance and know that I appreciate your generousity no matter who wins. Wow! What a response!

Today, I began decorating for Valentine's Day..glittering hearts, gluing, stringing beads, and all the time thinking of my mom's funeral on Valentine's Day, 2003, and thinking of how she would always make it special for us, and never thought that one day Valentine's Day would become a sad day for my family. Oh my!! The clock is ticking -- you're not on my Pacific Northwest clock are you! I just stopped in again (for the zillionth time) and I can't resist a giveaway! Frankly, though, I wish you would give us a photo of the purse you use everyday! I've ended up going back to an old suede Coach bag of mine lately.... kind of nice to keep things stashed in the closet.... are you sure you want to give this one up?
As for my preferred treasure -- well, as you may see, I make new jewelry out of old jewelry, so any rhinestone, buttons and charms are my favorite finds. But I hope to start sewing again, so any fabric, ribbon or button things are already filling up my drawers!
