Scissor Love

Does anyone else out there have a vintage scissor collection?
Maybe you all do!

 Anyway...

two weeks ago while browsing
the after Christmas sale at Anthropologie....

I spied these two pair of scissors from the Sibella Court collection.

vintage...looking!

And at 50% off the sale price...

...it was time to buy them
and bring them home to add to my collection.

One of these days... if I get it all together...
I will share my vintage scissor collection...
...or have we already done that?

So, it turns out that yesterday's post was my 800th....
...It just doesn't seem possible!

In any case...

Time for a Give-Back!
Time for me to show you all how much I appreciate
all the feedback, comments and support you have given me.

Gee, I'll have to think about this.
What kind of blog loving give aways are your favorites?
Any suggestions?
 I'm open to ideas!
What sort of give-back would you like to see on
52 FLEA?
:)

I have often thought about starting a scissors collection. Having sewn since I was an early teen they have been a"I cannot do without item" I love the old stork handles, pearl handles etc.

I have a few and now you have inspired me to get them all together. I had the Anthropologie scissors in my hand and put them back...why?
I'm sure I would love anything you choose to giveaway!
Happy New Year my friend!

Love those scissors. I bought another pair of scissors at an estate sale today but most of mine are vintage plain janes. I'm more about the function; I love having a nice sharp pair in every room!

I only have one vintage pair of scissors I took from my mom's house. They are rather plain, but have great patina. As for your give away, I am sure anything you decide on will be wonderful. I am judging from the things I see you buy at the flea markets and show on your site.

mmmm...never thought that others would have scissors collections too! yours are so dainty - most of mine are large dressmaker's shears...but anything metal and with great patina is a winner!
congrats on 800 posts!

Handmade giveaways are the best!! I collect antique sewing items so have several scissors. I too bought the Anthro. scissors. They are lovely! So happy to have just found your blog. It's like coming home.

I need to start another collection almost as badly as I need a hole in my head. But those scissors will certainly make me consider it!

800 posts! You are a productive lady and I've no doubt you'll select something charming for your give back. As for scissors ~ I would have snapped those up too. I've been a stitcher since childhood and scissors have collected about me for many years. Most of mine are small stitching scissors, some vintage while others are just interesting. Friends have given me scissors, but most I've purchased when I see something different. I've thought about creating a post on scissors too, just haven't gotten around to it. Now you have me wanting to head to Anthropologie. ~ Sarah

I'm sure anything you choose to "give back" will be wonderful.

Laura,
Very Vintage looking. I would have never thought that! No, I don't collect Vintage scissors. Just pin cushions. Funny this gal can't sew a stitch but, collects pin cushions :)
Go figure.
Have a great week,

I like the clock faces set into the driftwood--almost Dali-like. As far as giveaway ideas go, it might be nice to give back by giving to someone who really needs it, like maybe a charity or something. Here's an idea...

WhoooHoooo! Is there anything better than finding new love @ 50% off the SALE price? Good for you.... and they're just too darn cute. Two pair of vintage scissors here......does that even count as a collection? One vintage Wiss flower snips... embossed.... and pretty cute. And, my grandma's HUGE tailor scissors. :-)

That is funny, because I just bought a pr. of old vintage scissors a few days ago. I am confused are the ones you bought old or copies of old ones - since someone above said they bought them too I thought they must be copies.
