I thought I would scan some of my vintage
Christmas postcards for you.
While looking through a boxful this morning
I found Santa dressed in a variety of costumes
and apparently with some very bizarre er...
different types of personality.
Now this Santa not only has an awesome sack of toys but
he has a kind, caring expression on his face.
It's just the red tights and elf shoes that have me a bit confused.
Wait...did this Santa just make this tiny tot cry?
Is it just me?
...or do you see a resemblance between Santa
and the guy looking over his shoulder?
OK....would you trust this face?
No, really!
Is he pointing to mistletoe?
I'm scared.
...and now I'm terrified!
:)
Giggle.
Silly me!
The weekend is upon us.
Have some fun!

Funny post! I have a collection of vintage Santas and my kids call them "Scary Santas!" You made me giggle too!
Oh Laura
I haven't had a good belly laugh in ages!!! this did it for me.. I'd like to add to your commentary.. but fear it would not be for public consumption.. hahahaha.. Let's just say there is a lot of finger pointing going on!!..
I think those poor little kiddies look a bit distressed re the red tights also.... but the penultimate image is the cracker.. Santa hatching some devious plan to take down all those pesky humans that make him work so hard for such little pay!! He'll show 'em!!!
I'm scared now too!!! Have a fabulous weekend.. and thanks sooooo much for this bit of fun... ciao ciao xxx Julie
I luv to collect the antique postcards of Santa also. I am always on the hunt for the ones with santa and the American flag also. Thanks for sharing your collection............TALLULAH'S

Have a great weekend.
Warm wishes, Mea
Your commentary was perfect to describe these cards! It's fun to see how Santa has been interpreted throughout the years.

That is a silly charming post, Laura. Love it!
So cute my friend....I do love these vintage images of dear old Santa. Happy weekend. xoxoox
I can't decide which Santa is more hilarious! Moon faced Santa, seedy Santa or evil Santa! Vintage Christmas postcards are so much fun to trawl through - always get me into the festive spirit :-)

Oh Laura,
I've always found Santa Claus on vintage Christmas cards rather suspect !!!! I think that, if a child was to visit a Santa looking like that, Social Sevices might step in!!!!
Great post Laura and quite spooky. XXXX
Hallo Laura.
Yours are beautiful! I have to share mine also. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Liz
Fantastic! I have to say that the dude with the tights is pretty much like my childhood image of him, although I'm pretty sure mine wore boots. Isn't it incredible how much notions of him change?
What a fun collection! it is funny to see Santa with some of those expressions. ;-)

Yuko
hahaha great looking santas :)
hugs hannie
O how fun! My fav is the one with the little girl crying, what a mean santa!!
Cute post...I had never really looked at some of the old cards that close. They are too strange.
Very funny post! I think that 3rd Santa with the crying tot has a bundle of switches in his hand, so apparently the little one hadn't been very good that year. Some kids never learn, lol!
Girl, you're so funny!
Merci pour ce partage et le petit moment d'humour!
Bonne soirée
Manon
Aren't these great?! I love old postcards especially old holiday postcards!
Fabulous collection of Santa themed images, they all have such different styles and personalities.
You just made me laugh hysterically...especially with your comments on the last three santas! Very funny; thanks for the chuckle. Ho, ho, ho.
Ha or should I say Ho
Nice postcard collection - enjoyed the commentary.
Blessings
Rebecca
This is hysterical! You made me LOL!
Oh my goodness, thank you for making me smile. Funny, I tried to guess what you would say next and our thoughts ran along the same vein, no wonder children cry when you make them sit on his lap! Happy Christmas!
What a beautiful collection of Christmas cards! You are so right about how different the Father Christmas' can look. Some you wouldn't trust!
