Looking at all those beautiful young faces this evening as they accepted their diplomas and congratulated each other on their high school graduation...
I started thinking how sometimes life really is like a bowl of cherries...
...these enthusiastic graduates are looking ahead to a future bright and sweet with possibility...
...and then sometimes life gives you a lemon...
...a problem or situation that you don't feel prepared to handle...
...sometimes you get the bitter with the sweet...
And so it is with every family...
I am feeling grateful tonight for time this summer and hope to be able to make some lemonade out of those lemons...
I will be heading to the lake tomorrow to spend some quiet and quality time with my Mom and Dad.
Time is a gift!
Have a great weekend! :)

Laura this post is full of so much truth. When we are given lemons, there's only one thing to do...and that is add a little sugar and sit and enjoy. If I would have known then, what I know now, I wonder sometimes if I would have made other choices. What a blessing it is, not to know. I would have missed out on the sweetest lemonade ever!
Thank you for your post. I needed to remember.
hugs
Beautiful, Laura! Enjoy your time with your parents! Mine are arriving from across the country next week to spend some time with our family...it's been a year since I have seen them and I am so looking forward to it!
Dear Laura, you certainly have a way with words and images. Enjoy precious time with your family. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

Dear Laura,
Well, that's the best thing to do with lemons.... a nice cool glass of lemonade whilst watching Wimbledon !!
Your photographs are just lovely. A real look of Summer.

"'Lemon tree very pretty, but the lemon flower is sweet and the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat...'" Peter, Paul, and Mary said it all in a nutshell :) Love your blog! ;)bb
Have a wonderful weekend too. I'm spending it with my parents too...I'm driving them to Iowa this weekend to visit my brother and his family.

P.S. That was a little sad, but very lovely.
A little salt and tequila will go fine with that lemon, too. Enjoy your folks! ~Mindy
Time truly is a gift, and I haven't had much extra time of late. :-)
But I've just spent some leisurely time scrolling through your recent blog posts that I've missed. I so enjoy my time spent at 52 Flea. Thank you for taking the time to share these wonderful photos and thoughts.
Have a wonderful weekend at the lake. ~ Sarah
How true, Laura, sometimes it's a bowl of cherries, and sometimes you get lemons. It's really what we do with them, isn't it? And we can always add sugar to the lemons. Wishing you a special time with your parents at the Lake House, dear friend.
I agree-- the photos tell your story in the most lovely of ways, and suddenly made me see that "lemons" can be beautiful in their own unique ways if we just give them the right perspective. Thank you.
Hugs,
Maryann
