Bucket of White Pansies

Spent the weekend getting things ready for the shop...
...pricing and packing.
A flea market fix made it fun...but boy... am I tired tonight!
...a good kind of tired.

These visitors may look harmless, beautiful and peaceful...
...but they're eating all the buds on our flowers!
Back to the woods you three!
Scram!

Busy week ahead for me.
How about you?

Time to Organize!

Now that I am home, I have to learn how to manage my time...
...because it keeps disappearing on me!

I always thought that if I wasn't working and had the time...
...things at home would be so much more organized...

I've been home a few weeks now and although I am loving it...
...I certainly don't have things under control!

My sisters and girl friends are sharing their tips ...

...like focus on one room at a time...

...I seem to move things from one room to another...

My friend Evi told me to give myself some more time to adjust.
She offered to come help me.
So have my sisters.

It's ok, I can do this by myself...
...I'm just a little overwhelmed.

Tomorrow is another day!

If you care to share any organizing expertise...I am all ears! :)

For those of you who are interested in the silverware markers that I have shown (see previous post)...I bought mine at Anthropologie.
I have an old set of stamping tools but haven't tried making my own yet...however...

Rosemary from Roses Petite Maison creates them and does custom orders...

...and Rita from Beach House Living also creates markers from silverware and sells them in her online shop.

...and I just read Jenny Doh's post on Crescendoh and hammered spoon jewelry is being offered in their new online shop!

Hope your Friday is full of fun and...
...productive! :)

Grateful For This Time!

I am enjoying every minute of this beautiful spring weather!
It is the first spring that I am home...
...puttering around in my little nest, able to go outside and take a walk whenever I need to...
...not trapped inside an office all day, every day....

To be in charge of my own schedule...
...how I spend my time...
...is a gift!

After all those years of corporate life...
...I am feeling free as a bird!

Taking the time to notice the little things...
...don't you just love the color of these grape hyacinths?...

Although I did not plan on leaving my career this early...
...I am appreciating the gift of time!

Found two of these blue flowered plates at the flea market this past weekend...
...there's that beautiful blue color again! :)

It seems to be taking me longer than I imagined to get things accomplished at home...
...there is so much to distract me...
...so many things to play with...

...but I have time.

...and I am ever so grateful for this gift!

I hope you have time too...or make time for the things that make you smile!
:)

White Pansies, Zinc and Flea Finds

Our Easter weekend was a bit different this year as many family members were out of town....but it was still wonderful....full of bright sunshine, flea markets, special friends with sweet little girls, new friends and a delicious Easter dinner...
... and some down time just for relaxation too.

I was able to spend a morning at the flea market and found some fun things that I wanted to share with you...
...first this little poultry feeder....the perfect size for a few white pansies...

I loved the color on this flowered enamel plate...
...the chips don't bother me a bit!
...Now, those initials...LDC
...could they say....Laura Doesn't Clean?
...no, no...that can't be right...
Laura's Dreams Cometh?
...moving on...

I found seven of these blue and white flowered enamel plates...

a handful of crystals and two tarnished mother of pearl knives...

...two little old tins and a wonderful, tiny wicker covered bottle... c 1900

...and some rusty finials...
...There was lots more...I will save a few pics for a later post...

I've also been rooting around in the cellar and digging up some old zinc items, watering cans, tin things, etc, etc.

White pansies look pretty with everything!

I hope that you are having some warm spring sunshine where you are...
or for my friends on the other side of the world...perhaps at least sunny skies!
...and I hope your week ahead brings all good things!
:)
