Vintage Black Friday 2

A few vintage black items to share....
...a 50's purse, a black velvet hat with netting and rhinestones

An old recording...a fox trot!

Starla...what have you found there in that little black leather box?

It's a sweet little jewelry box that I forgot I had...
... tucked away in a drawer and filled with tiny treasures...

Beautiful buttons, bits and bobs, a rhinestone buckle and pin...

An old button hook and a little brass case...

An old rosary...

A rhinestone brooch in the shape of the letter F....
...maybe this little black leather box belonged to my great aunt FiFi....

What a surprise to find this tiny religious icon in the little brass case...

For other participants in Vintage Black Friday visit Jill at Gypsy Brocante...

Rainy Day Treasure

There was more to be found in addition to the cigar box treasures at this rainy weekend sale...

I love this pair of opera glasses...bought for a fraction of their value...

Always attracted to these Cornishware bowls...I had to bring them home with me...

Great books at only fifty cents a piece...

I was happy to find some gardening titles for my collection...

Two old brass keys, a pair of change purses and a black Victorian bow...

A bit of pretty blue bling... earrings for 25 cents...

Another bargain book which is as interesting on the inside as the cover appears...

Crochet hooks and thread in brilliant blues and green...

Despite the rain...it was a successful treasure hunting weekend...
I was able to find some bargains, catch up and visit with my girlfriend and bring home a few goodies to add to my collections and art supplies...
Thanks for coming along!

New Use for Old Drawers

These old drawers were found at the Elephant's Trunk in Ct.....the sides of the little chest were gone......but the burled wood on these drawer fronts was so pretty, the escutcheons interesting and they were well made so I thought I could do a little decoupage and use them as trays for some of my jewelry.

This one is finished.....the project was abandoned for a while and I have yet to finish the other two. I brought them outside to photograph and I think I have learned a valuable lesson about photography......make sure you dust before you shoot your picture! I will have to finish the project, use a little lemon oil to polish them up and then re-take some pictures for you.......
