Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

This first photo is of my mother and my grandmother
 in the 1930's.

I am so grateful...
for having had such strong and loving women in my life.

It's been a year since my Mom passed away...
I miss her every day and I guess I always will.

Mom and sister Lynn

Mother's Day has always been an up or down day for me.
For years it was a sad day...
... as I didn't think I would ever be a mother.

And then after a long ten years, our Daniel was born...
That was a special, joyful Mother's Day...
And Katharine, our baby girl was born just two years later...
...now we had the family I longed for.

I loved being a mother.
well, usually :)

I just received a delivery of beautiful roses and chocolates
from my two great kids, Dan and Kate.
 I'm a lucky girl...
...and very, very grateful.

So, I guess tomorrow will be an up and down day!
As I count my blessings and miss my Mom.

Wishing all you mothers, grandmothers, aunts,
daughters, sisters and friends...
a  joyful day!
:)

Mother's Joy

My beautiful Mom as a new mother!
Still just as beautiful today!

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope that your day is full of joy!

Beth of Gypsy Fish Journal is hosting Silver Sunday so I poked around to find a few more silver items...
Above are two beautiful old silver serving spoons from my father's side of the family...

...a set of pretty monogrammed silver forks...

...and this is Gorham's Buttercup pattern.
It was my husband's grandmother's pattern, it is his mother's pattern, his sister's pattern and it is my pattern too ... as that was our wedding gift from my in-laws.
I love it and with four sets in the family we have every size dinner party covered!

Mr. Flea and I both have wonderful mothers who are still so active in their 80's and full of fun.
Click here to see last years Mother's Day post ... the three of us had a ton of fun when we went to the flea market together!

Anyway I wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of you.....

...to those that have children...
... to those that want children, to those who nurture, to those who love.

Have a beautiful Sunday!
