Robin's Egg Blue

Yes, we found another abandoned robin's nest.

...and this one had a lone, beautiful and perfect egg.

Beautiful robin's egg blue.

...a summer color.

Getting ready for the picnic at the beach.
We will bring a delicious orzo salad to share with
all the others in our little lake community.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Mary's cream puffs!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
:)

Thanks for all your comments and information on my forks!
I think I will polish them a bit and keep them for a while!
...and no...they weren't my Mom's.
If they were Mom's I would never, ever sell them!
:)

Oh Laura

Oh that tiny little abandoned egg.
Poor mother bird - I fear something must have happened to her, for her not to return to her nest. Nature can be cruel - where was Father bird????
Such a beautiful nest and egg... I feel sad.

much love
Shane

Beautiful color - thanks for sharing.
The egg may be one that would not hatch, and birds/animals sense things like that.

We had a momma bird this summer sit in her little nest on top of the electric meter on my husbands pole barn. She was on there for weeks and weeks... hot days she would pant because she was so hot. poor gal. And after all of her hard work - the eggs didn't hatch. poor momma.
I took the next down and the robins egg blue is so perfectly beautiful isn't it.
Hope you are having a great summer!
Have a PRETTY day!

Dear Laura,
As a child, I used to wish and pray that I could find a whole birds egg and, to be in a nest would have been an even greater treasure but, such a bitter sweet prize, as the egg would have been abandoned and not hatched so, I really didn't want to find one !!!! Birds eggs are so beautiful, their colouring and patterns.
I love the way that you have put this post together with all of the beautiful turquoise/bird's egg blue things you have.
I have been away and have just seen your post about the silver cutlery. They are most definitely pastry forks. I have some myself and, my sister was looking for things to use for an afternoon tea this Sunday and found a box of old Victorian pastry forks that were her mother-in-law's.
Enjoy Mary's cream puff's !! XXXX

How wonderful to have already had on hand all the lovely "robin's egg blue" items to complete your vignette, Laura.

We find abandoned nests around our little farm fairly frequently, but to this point, no robins' nests. How delightful that yours contained the beautiful egg.

Blessings,
