An Odd Assortment of Flea Finds

I will start with my favorite.
Don't you just love old scales?

Next up....an old crate with paper on all four sides...
this side being in the worst condition.
You will have to take my word for it...
...the other sides had Japanese scenes and birds...
...unfortunately the battery in my camera died.

OK, so now we get a little funky.
Dad said this canteen holder was from the Korean War.
Would you think me strange if I were to sew a few old doilies
and bits of trim on it?
Would you laugh at me if I were to wear this
 around my waist while flea~ing?

it's just an idea...

Continuing along...
I found a box full of old aqua colored soda and beer bottles.
Among them was this Pluto Water America's Physic bottle.

I told you it was an odd assortment!

Lots more...but Mr. Flea is due back this evening.
so...I've got to go!
:)

Oh my gosh, I love everything!!!! I bought an Army first aid kit and was thinking the same thing. It was full of bandages etc. I love that look with lace. That box is awesome!!! I have a few scales too, although not like that one. They are great to display lots of different things. Have fun!

Love your idea for the canteen! Jazz her up! Great for a flea market. Won't matter if it gets a bit of odd dust on it! :)

Strange? No way! In fact, when I go out junking with my sis, sil, & dd tomorrow I'm looking for a canteen holder! Already have doilies & lots of lace & buttons.

BTW, I always love all your stuff!

Oh my goodness - I just read a book about Pluto Water so it's so fun to see that bottle. I believe it was bottled in French Lic,k Indiana. The book was So Cold the River by Michael Koryta. I thought it was just a made up water, but it obviously existed. Love all your other finds too.

Good idea to wear the embellished canteen holder. I'm a large rickrack girl so I'd embellish with that instead of lace. However, I'm looking forward to how you "girlyfy" the canteen thing.

hope all is well in the mountains....probably cooler I'm sure.

What a gorgeous scale. I love them too and have a neat, sea green one that I have set up and always "weigh" out different items on display. Sea witch

Old stuffs are very best to remaining old days. It is best place to see in garage or stand-wall. I really impress with your awesome collections.

I have an assortment of old scales myself - everything from a vintage baby scale to a grocer's scale. I just love 'em! Recently I did a post featuring one them with some of the goodies from my garden, and I just created a new blog header with that same scale. I love and use old crates and bottles all the time, as well. But I save the collecting of military memorabilia for my dad. ;)

Blessings,
