I love this time of year in the mountains...so beautiful and quiet.
Sitting on our favorite bench early this morning...
sipping my hot coffee,
I was overwhelmed with the majesty of this special place...
If you look close...you can see someone in a scull through the mist....
(click to enlarge...he's about a third of the way in from the right.)
My heart is filled with gratitude for so many things...
...and being able to spend time here with family and friends is just one of them. Generations of my family have been coming here for the last 85 years...I know that we are truly blessed...
... As I sat here I was thinking of all the mornings that my parents, grandparents and great grandparents must have looked out at this same lake and mountain.
It was a wonderful weekend...full of activity.
Mr. Flea, Dan and his friends took a hike yesterday.
I spent a good part of the day over in Warrensburg...
poking about the town wide yard sales and flea market...
...doing what I do!
I will share some sights and flea market finds with you tomorrow.
This morning, while I prepared breakfast for the gang...
Mr. Flea took his kayak out...
that never fails to put a smile on his face!
May the week ahead be peaceful and calm
for each of you...
:)

Oh my, you are blessed to be able to enjoy that view. And, how awesome when you think of the past generations sitting there. Especially, when you think of the "treasure" hunting we do and how times have changed and our lives as we live them are so different with the technology, BUT, that view. That view has not and will not change no matter how you wash your clothes or communicate with family and friends or with any other "advancement" in the world, God's gifts remain unchanged and the most spectacular. I must say though that I am grateful for the technology so that I can enjoy your gift too!
ReplyDeleteThe "majesty" of this place...perfect description. Stunning...beyond gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your blessings! Xo, Sue

Lauren, there's just something about the fall morning mists that makes us stop and take a moment to reflect and appreciate the silence and beauty and to take a much-needed respite from noise and movement - at least for a little while - until our day begins....
