Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Mr. Flea and Dan picked me up at the airport last night.
my sweethearts...

Today I am meeting the girls at Evi's lovely home
for her annual Valentine luncheon.
I will tell you all about it and share some photos as soon as I can!

Hope you have a lovely day!
Love is in the air...

I Heart Tart Tins

Found:
One paper sack full of old tart tins.

Some are marked "Sweden".

Some say, "Made in W. Germany".

A few had a bit of rust.
All of them needed a good scrubbing.

Tin....beautiful tin.

Tomorrow Dad is taking me to a giant yard sale
in the Weeki Wachee parking lot...
...home of the world famous Mermaids!

I wonder what I will find?

Hope you have a fun weekend!

Thrifty Finds For Valentine's Day

Found this milk glass jar at a thrift store this week...

...dressed her up for Valentine's Day.

...and this sweet little plate too.

A decision has been made.

I'm flying home to be with Mr. Flea on Valentine's Day.
And...since he will be skiing during the day...

...I will be free to attend Evi's annual Valentine Day Luncheon!

Yippee!

Don't worry Pappa Flea...I will be back!
:)

Do you have special plans for Valentine's Day?
Will you spend time with your sweetheart...
...or will you do something sweet for yourself?

Playing Hearts

There's not a whole lot going on down here...
it's very relaxing and uncomplicated.
And there is not much that I can get out to...
but...
I did find two vintage FTD glass heart containers
and a bunch of red playing cards at Goodwill !!

So....our little guessing game was a lot of fun!
Thanks for all your input.
I'm thinking that those that commented or emailed that those twisted wire things were something to do with gutter clips are probably right.
 But...
I loved all your ideas and especially the suggestions that they might be little bird perches or bubble wands,
or giant hat pins or even billboard signs for fairies
and a fun game for bunnies!

Thanks for playing along!
Happy Wednesday Friends!  :)

Tin and Zinc Flea Finds

Last week at the flea market,
I found this great old tin mold for a good price.
I love the decoration on the sides.

Look at what else I brought home with me...
some down spout cage thingies...
My Dad says it keeps the leaves from clogging the down spouts...

I like to use them like mini cages with a little nest or bird inside.
:)

Does anyone know what this is?
Even Dad doesn't have a clue.

 Any ideas?

Because I have a dozen of them!

If you know what they are used for....please let me know.

If you don't know...
well, make up a story!

We'd love to hear what you think!

A Few More Vintage Finds

A few more simple finds found at Webster last Monday...

This HONEY tin is in great shape...
Too bad I can't read the faint writing in the box...
From The Apiary of.....

I love it's blue color which blends perfectly
with the small size Ball canning jar I found.

And then there was this vintage mint green jewelry box with the same color blue for its velvet lining.

Possibly my favorite take home treasure...
is this old ironstone corn mold.

Did you know vintage kitchen items were my first love?

I can't seem to get enough of white ironstone.
Although, goodness knows...
I. have. enough.

One of my Mom's pretty silver spoons...
February
sits on top of 4 vintage blue and white linen napkins.

love blue and white.
love linen.

...oh, and I forgot to show you these three tiny change purses...
...not sure what crafty thing I will do with them.
They probably will sit in a box with all the other tiny change purses I seem to bring home with me!

 So that's it for today.
I have chicken tarragon in the oven and am expecting
Mr. Flea's parents to join Dad and me for dinner.

Then....it's Super Bowl time and, of course...Downton Abbey!

Flea Market Tidbits

Showing just a few tidbits...
some of the tiny, little things I picked up at the Webster Flea.

I loved this itsy, bitsy gold metal locket...
...and was thrilled to find the tiny photographs still inside.

An old tin...
...some brass skeleton keys

This little round shaped piece of hardware reminds me of a crown.
My Renninger clock face fits perfectly inside.

Perhaps it was a lamp part?
In August...while at the Madison Bouckville show in New York,
 I found the "crown" below.

More photos of found bits and pieces at Webster
and local thrift stores to follow soon.

I am much pickier in my purchases these days...
I have to fall totally in love with something
or get it for a steal before it gets to come home with me.

Frankly, my years of collecting have caught up with me
and taken over.
I have way too many antiques and loads of vintage stuff...
wonderful. old. things.

It is well past time to pass things along to someone else!
But...it's hard to let go.
Even though...I know it's just stuff.
I'm trying...really I am.

I think I have BHD
Borderline Hoarding Disorder
(I just made that term up...but it fits!)

Something I will never give up as long as I am able bodied...
is the hunt...the quest for the unusual...the beautiful
...and the love of being outside in the early morning
searching for that unnamed item that will start
 my heart a-pounding!

I'll never stop looking!
:)

...and hopefully one day soon I will stay put long enough
to open up my Etsy shop.
After all, if something sells...I have to be home to ship it out!

Enjoy the weekend friends!
:)
