Since so many of us love vintage or antique sewing items I thought I would share this creation with you......It was made by Kim Stout of Thistle Hill.....a very talented artist and sweet person. She adapted an antique sewing piece by adding her handmade possum to the top of it!

This shows the bottom of the top piece which has a wonderful button attached which helps hold the possum in place..... Kim also does wonderful work with pottery.....I am not positive but it could be her own original button....

The whole thing comes apart and there is space inside for storing thimbles and notions.....

I met Kim in person at the Wilton American Craftsmanship Show a few years ago.....She has a huge collection of old sewing items.....buttons , notions and vintage textiles.....Kim creates wonderful faces out of clay and makes all kinds of pin keeps, theorem strawberries and other clever things....(There is a picture of one of her pin keeps on my side bar).....

You can see more of Kim's things at
Earth Angels..........
Just a Reminder........I will be drawing the name of the winner of my "
Give Back" tonight so entries can still be made up until 6 p.m. today, Monday, May 11th.....simply click on the link and leave a comment......I can hardly wait to find out which new blogging friend's name is drawn and what kind of things she likes! Then the fun will begin as I dig through my many years accumulations of collected junk
er treasures to find just the right prize! Good luck to all!
