A few weeks before Christmas, when Kate was home visiting,
she took us out to lunch to one of the charming little restaurants in Nyack, NY.
She wanted me to see some of Nyack's shops and boutiques
so we could do a little holiday shopping.
While there I spied a little shop with eye catching window displays
...clearly there were vintage items and artsy vignettes...
...we had to explore!
The sign on the door said....Pop Up Shop.
Once inside, I was enthralled with the vintage treasures
and delighted with the artful arrangements and creative vignettes
that met the eye at every turn!
My mind was racing...
...as I imagined how I could use this or that
in my own arrangements at home or in my booth space.
Oooo...who is the person or persons behind this wonderful collection of cool stuff?
That is when I met Christina Lane
who, along with co-owners Bette Blau and Meryl Foster
are the proprietors of this little shop which had just "popped up"!
Christina, who couldn't have been any friendlier and welcoming,
explained that she and Bette were prop stylists and that these treasures were the overflow...the inevitable wonderful leftovers from photo shoots and staging projects.
Wow!
My kind of place!
I loved it all....
Kate and Mr. Flea, my biggest fans...
embarrassed me a little and ...told Christina about my little blog
and how all of this was right up my alley.
Back in December...
the two stylists had only just opened the shop a few weeks earlier
and were still trying to settle on a name for the store.
We shared a few laughs as Mr. Flea thought he was brilliant when
he came up with his suggestion of calling the pop up shop...
The PROP -UP SHOP!
But...I loved the name they selected...

Take a look around...
Christina was enthusiastic when I asked if I could come back
to take pictures for the blog...
...but it wasn't until last week that I finally was able to return.
The store front windows are so well done...intriguing...
...they draw you right in!
A fun collection of galvanized tin bait keepers.
Pair one with a fishing pole and some cheery flowers
for a welcoming summer vignette.
They also are now carrying some lovely new items.

...like this collection of MUD dinnerware.
I love the soft colors and matte finish.
Beautiful Turkish towels...
...blues, grays, creams...
Such a wonderful mix of interesting objects...
...this is the kind of place you have to stop in every week as you never know what you will find!
Intriguing, right?
I knew you would love it!
You can find Archive Home on their Facebook page HERE

If you see something you must have,
it just might be listed in their new Etsy shop HERE !
It turns out that Christina is a contributing editor to Country Living magazine.
Why am I not surprised ! ?!
Hope you are well...
I am still busy cleaning out and decided to focus on that and hold off just a bit longer on re-stocking the Etsy shop.

Wow! What an amazing treasure chest of a shop. If I lived close by the birdcage, glasses, turkish towels and perhaps some wonderful pieces of mud pottery would be in my trunk sooooo fast. Such a great store - I wish them tons of success! Patty/BC
