Autumn Snow

We woke up this morning to five inches of snow.
Pretty.

Fortunately we still have our power...
...and nice warm heat.

But, I really wasn't ready for snow yet!
Especially right after the hurricane.
Many golden leaves are still clinging to trees
and we haven't even celebrated our Thanksgiving yet!

However...after the events of this last week and a half
I'm learning to take things in stride
and am grateful for things often taken for granted.

The snow has really made me think ahead to Christmas.
Pulling out coppery ornaments...
...sort of in-between....autumn and December.

Hope you are all having a good week.
And for those of you without power yet...
...like my sister Mary Beth in Westchester...
...hang in there!
Sending warm wishes and hugs.
:)
What am I grateful for today?
Heat, light, hot food, hot showers

  2. Pretty photos, Laura, and thanks for the reminder to get storm windows put on this weekend.

Here in the UP, where it would be perfectly normal this time of year to have snow on the ground, it was a balmy 50 degrees today, and the same is expected through the weekend.

    Glad you're safe and warm.

My thoughts are with those who are not.

  3. I love looking a photos of snow. It does seem a bit early for snow, though. We get so very little snow here that I never know when snow hits the Midwest and East Coast anymore. We used to live in the Midwest near Chicago and usually around the first week in December it would start snowing. It sure is pretty to look at but I have to tell you I sure don't miss shoveling it! 16. I too worry about all those without heat. I spent one winter here without any and it was tough and our temps aren't THAT bad <3
those poor souls - wish I could take some in, but the commute would be horrible.

  24. The snow really is beautiful Laura. I know it's early for you to have snow, but I'm just so glad you have power. I am so worried about those who don't and those who have no idea when they will get it. Sandy has been so devastating to so many. I hope your sister is okay and that she will have power soon.

I have been enjoying your previous posts for the last few minutes. I think your lavender bottle are gorgeous and I am crazy over the silver spoons!!! Your photos always make me sigh..they are just amazing!
Keep warm my friend and hugs to you...
