First of all, I want to say thank you for all your well wishes.
You guys are the best!
After a few days of bed rest...
I am happy to report that I am on the move again.
The sun was shining this morning and I couldn't resist
picking a few Lily of the Valley...
...even though they are not quite in full bloom yet.
Their fragrance is so nostalgic and sweet.
I grabbed every sort of tiny container
and made little bouquets to spread about the house.
Mr. Flea was amused when I used this old glass shaker
from the Hoosier cabinet.
It really doesn't matter what you put your Lily of the Valley in...
...they are always so pretty and delicate.
No flea market for me this weekend...
...just a lot of rest.
But that's OK...
...it is going to be a busy week ahead and besides...
I must be in tip top shape for my trek to Brimfield.
It's coming up soon!
How about you?
Did you get out to the flea market or do any thrifting this weekend?
Find anything wonderful?
Do tell!
:)
Unfortunately, no flea markets for me! My weekend was jammed packed with other activities, but hopefully next weekend for sure. Glad you're feeling better.

Hi Dear Laura
ReplyDeleteI love lily of the valley.. it reminds me of my mum.. and i think it is my birth month flower..
Another fabulous banner.. and I love the muddy blue hues and grey toned shadows in these shots.. fabulous!!! Reminds me that I do prefer dark and moody tones!!
Have a great week..ciao ciao xxx Julie
Hello there - no flea marketing but plenty of Lily of the Valley for my weekend! That's because it's coming up for May 1st, when French people give each other L ot V for good luck. I bought myself a pot (it just won't take in the garden) and then I was given a second pot as a gift by a friend. The house smells wonderful! I love your displays - I have the same little ink bottle.
ReplyDeleteI agree with mr. Flea you are amusing...and quite fun to read. Such lovely vessels
ReplyDeleteYou just have that knack of presenting everything beautifully. Lily of the Valley is so sweet and delicate. Reminds me of my mum as she always has a little posy of it in a tiny glass vase on the side, this time of year. I didn't have a vase small enough - now I realise, who needs a vase!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your beutiful pictures.
So beautiful, Laura! I can almost smell them.....

I'm glad you are feeling better, so sorry you hurt your back and I hope it gets better with each passing day. No treasure hunting for me this weekend, instead I did a photo shoot and lots of mowing/yardwork. I love Lily of the Valley but sadly I don't have any in my yard. Laura, sorry to hear you have not been well....my Lily of the Valley still looks like large blades of grass, not flowering as yet.... A few plants were given to me by my husband's grandmother and now it has grown into a lovely large patch...I love the scent in early Spring too! Your beautiful containers with it are so sweet....my type of flower arranging...be well, N. xo

ReplyDeleteLet's try this again...lost the comment I wrote?????
I'm glad to hear you are feeling more like yourself...don't overdo, please.
I, too, have little containers of Lily of the Valley throughout the house...love that "Victorian" scent.
Quite by accident, I discovered that it dries beautifully...just leave it in the little vessels, once the water is spent!
Busy Hands...Happy Heart
Patricia
your pictures make me happy and I can almost smell the flowers!! Well done!!
