Christmas Carole and Her Shop at Maynard Greenhouse

Warning...this post is very long...
and you may need sunglasses for all the sparkle!

The Shop at Maynard Greenhouse!
Carole and George have a beautiful setting where they sell Christmas trees, wreaths, and more...much more!

And then....
...inside the Christmas shop....
Carole has created a magical place...
full of sparkle, whimsy and pure delight!

There's so much to see......it's hard to take it all in...
...but go ahead and try!

Everywhere you look...every corner..nook and cranny...
...there is something special...a beautifully arranged vignette...
and a treasure to be found.

We spent a long time looking...sigh...
and if you are in the area of Old Saybrook, CT...
you should take a look too!

Carole came over to Paula's home Friday evening after she closed up shop and we shared a glass of wine and good conversation...
...then she had to get back to work and make more wreaths!

Did you see anything you wanted to take home?
I tried to be good...
I really did try!
:)

Thank you thank you thank you thank you! Carole and I talk for hours and I try to imagine the shop and get a mental image, and picture her there making wreaths and now I can clearly see and have a sense where she is when we chat. Thank you sweetie!

I felt as if I were walking right beside you as you took these pictures. You gave me an escape from reality and put a smile on my face.
Honestly, I'm glad I wasn't there or I would have spent my "Christmas fund" all on ME.lol

Wow! Such a gorgeous Winterwonderland that Carole created! I knew her shop was beautiful from the pictures she shows sometimes on her blog, but I did't get it is quite as wonderful as it really is! Thank you for sharing it with us! Oh how I wish I could visit! How sweet that you called her Christmas Carole he he I guess I'm one too though ;-)
I also love the shop from the outside,it looks like a barn and the blue sky ahh we have gray skies and rain here for days now, so good to see some blue sky! Well yes I saw a lot of things that I would have loved to take home, beginning with that fabulous bottlebrush star and then the snowgirl with the tophat and the snowfalke in her hand she's so gorgeous, the white wooden bunny ornament, some Wendy Addison ornaments, oh I could go on and on. So what did you pick?

I love it! I have a friend who lives in Old Saybrook so she knows this shop and was surprised that someone from Greece told her about it!!!!
Anything I like? Everything I like! But I think I would definitely buy one of those golden thread acorns, the vintage king decoration and I want to know what's that tin box with the bird on it! Amazing! Like a museum!AriadnefromGreece!

Oh mylanta...this is where I want to wake up Christmas morning. If Santa has his workshop with the elves...this has got to be where Mrs. Claus takes care of her business.
I know I'd be leaving with more than just glitter in my teeth.

Beautiful photos, wonderful shop! That glass ornament of a Cardinal (the Roman Catholic kind versus a feathered friend) was very unique and interesting.

Beulah Bee said...

Oh, regarding my comment on the Cardinal, I just showed my Roman Catholic husband the photo and he said, "That's Baby Jesus a/k/a Christ the King." I guess I don't know my iconoclasts very well.

Beulah Bee said...

Okay, did a little research, and the glass ornament is the Infant Jesus of Prague (Czech: Pražské Jezulátko) and depicts a famous statue of the infant Jesus located in the Church of Our Lady Victorious in Malá Strana, Prague. Now we know.
