Abandoned
Left Behind
These photos were taken a few weeks ago while on a walk, exploring in the woods.
It was a pretty afternoon filled with adventure and anticipation.
After a week of steady rain and too much time to think....
they seem a bit sad now...
Thank goodness the sun is supposed to shine today
and throughout this weekend!
Hope you have some fun things planned!
:)
Abandoned! So true. I love your pictures, there is a nice little fairytale here. That is one of the great things walking and discovering. Who lived here, what happend?
ReplyDeleteLove from Liv, wishing you a lovely weekend :-)
there's a story here!
ReplyDeleteNo sun here today.........so sad.......enjoy a happy weekend.........love from me.....xxxx..
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! Couldn't you just spend hours going through all of the vintage goodness in there. Do you know who the owner is?
ReplyDeleteWe need rain so badly! Be careful what you wish for, right? I am sick of the sun shining day after day without moisture but how lucky I am to be dry without floods!

Hello Laura,
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of the old abandoned cabin in the woods. The photos have charm and stories to tell of the past. Thanks for sharing and have a sunny weekend.

I love exploring abandoned houses. Did you take any remains? I won't tell! Ha, Ha!

it was a great little sanctuary in its day!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the abandoned cabin in the woods! Don't you just wonder what the story was?

ReplyDeleteIt is always moving to see abandoned lodgings. It makes me wonder who lived in it and I start imagining stories.

Lovely the story in the beautiful pictures.....
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend,
Warm greetings
Don't you wonder who lived there? Think of all the great things you could do with the old wood and those wonderful windows. My favortie picture is the wood with the nail and moss. So interesting. Glad you are getting sunshine!!
ReplyDeleteAnnette
I sure would love to have that turquoise door!
ReplyDeleteSometimes 'Abandoned' is Absolutely Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWonder why the jars were sitting on their tops? Wonder what they did with that big ladder, which, by the way would make a lovely thing to hang old linens on....S0 many things to wonder about. I had to look twice at this post!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting find. Places like that make you wonder who lived there, when and why they left. We have a barn opposite our house which has been left empty for decades. I plan on posting about it soon. I love it as it is but part of me also wonders how long it will stay up for...
Have a lovely weekend!

Lovely. I wonder what joy went on inside against the pretty aqua blue walls. SEa Witch
ReplyDeleteLooking at those jars I imagine the place may have been used by moonshiners!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, we finally had a sunny day here in Massachusetts.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to see a building falling down, though I love the patinas and textures. I love the bright turquoise inside the building and that jar thingy.
The ladder on the tree reminds me that I want to claim Dad's old wooden ladder before it falls to pieces.
I'm looking forward to exploring the woods around here in the Fall-my most favorite season.
Enjoy!
Sherry
Love these photos....
ReplyDeleteNot much going on around here this weekend..it's suppose to be "hot" here...so whatever we do...it more likely will be inside...smile..
Blessings...
xoxo Gert
We finally saw the sun shine today!

I'm always excited when I discover places like that hidden in the woods. My curious mind begins to concoct the history of the place and the owners. But...I'm also struck with a bit of remorse, when I witness the effects of "abandonment."
ReplyDeleteGlad you now have sunshine. ;)
Have a blessed weekend!

I can only imagine the history that cabin has... who lived there? when was it built? Love the rustic ladder!
ReplyDeletelooks downright spooky.....could scare me.
ReplyDeleteAt the other it is interesting how Mother Nature claims everything.
XOXO, Evi
HI Laura
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful.. and how kind of whoever abandoned it to leave some turquoise touches for us.. hehehe

Good Morning Laura:
ReplyDeleteJust getting caught up after my trip to England. As for all of that moss found on that 'abandoned retreat', it did show that life still does go on in some form anyway. I was so taken with all of the moss covered stones and fences in the English countryside. Discoveries are exciting and your photos were wonderful!

Wonderful photos and it makes me wonder who lived there and why it was left behind. I am imagining that it was once quite charming. Love that window!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
wow I wonder what the cabin was used for??..a home?...I would love to see all the things that could be made with the reclaimed wood...befor it is truly gone ...The picture in the window of the jars is my favorite as It looks like someone just left after washing he dishes!....
ReplyDelete...and the blue bench...wow I always wonder how that colour became so used years ago and is now one of the most popular of our time!
