While we were waiting for paint to dry on our counter tops....
I was thinking that although I am no longer in love with the
hunter green Formica....soon to be a softer pewter color...
I still want our lake house to reflect its Adirondack camp roots
and the beautiful bits of nature that we constantly collect
and seem to bring inside to live with.
Leaning towards the neutrals...
We are having good and then again...not so good...results
with painting the counter tops so far.
We're learning as we go...
and will try again tomorrow!
:)
Hope this weekend brings a lot of fun and/or relaxation to you!

I love the color scheme for your lake house. I can't wait to see the end results!
Have a beautiful day.

Oh dear Laura,
It sounds as if painting the counter tops is giving you a bit of trouble !! All part of the do-it-yourself process I think. These things never run smoothly. I know that you will get it right in the end and it will all look brilliant.
Keep persevering Mr and Mrs Flea !! XXXX
I love neutrals and anything from nature. Perfect. Can't wait to see the counters. I'm sure they will look fabulous. Hugs, Marty
I think it all sounds completely lovely and perfect!!! I bet it's going to look just amazing when you're finished:)
Nature provides the best colors of all - good luck painting and with your eye for detail it will all pull together soon.
Luv your latest paint scheme AND your wonderful photography!
If you have time, pop over to my "new" blog and to see what I did with a photo I took of a piece of birch bark on a recent visit to Northern Michigan.

Don't know what it is about birch bark, luv
the color and texture -- living in Texas, you just don't see it. boooo-whoooo
Happy week-end and thanks for your inspiring photos.

good luck with the counter top. Why is it, that everything worth-while is never easy?
Love all the neutrals and woodsy thingies.

Hi Laura Sweetie...
I can't wait to see how these counter tops turn out, as I too have old formica that I would love to paint and spruce up. I wonder how the paint will stand up to time and wear?
Love the nature roots that you have brought inside. Such beauty from the earth.
This is the Miracle Weekend makeover. I am one of the hosting sites. For every comment left, Guideposts magazine will pay a dollar, to the next cancer makeover patient. Please stop by and read the story about 9 year old Charlie, and bless me with a comment. Out goal between the 4 or 5 blogs is 5,000. I know we can do it. I would appreciate it, if you pass the word around to as many friends as possible.
Thank you sweetie for a wonderful post. I love it. Have a glorious weekend. Country hugs from Phoenix, Sherry

Hi Laura! It's been awhile since I have visited blogland. Always love your pictures and now can't wait to see the counter tops.
Neutral is best! I just redid my living room in creamy whites and I love it! Come see.
By the way, the sheen on those crochet threads is stunning! I would love to add those to my own collection! Yummy!
Ciao Bella!

Oh....I especially love the yarn!!!! *sighs* ....Love, love, love....
I love the birch, it's such a beautiful tone and texture to add into a design scheme.
Will you please post some before/after pics of your countertops? I have the same green and want to change it! How did it go? I'm wondering how durable the paint is.

I love your choice of muted colours ~ so relaxing. Can't wait to see how your countertops come out ~ ;-)
As we are thinking of doing this to our counter tops, I am anxious to hear how it went on and if you recommend it. Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
