We have been tied up working on the kitchen up here at the lake.
I was soooo naive about the time it would take!
Today was a rainy day...
...really the first day all summer that it rained most of the day.
So we read books, took naps and ate BBQ ribs!
Tomorrow...Mr. Flea and I are going to attempt to paint
the dark green Formica on the kitchen counters
a pewter color with Rustoleum's special counter top paint.
Dad will be making a shelf for over the kitchen sink
and one for over the refrigerator.
It's looking pretty darn good so far!
Will show you some pictures once we are done.
Looking forward to Madison Bouckville next week....
Thanks for all your comments...it's always so nice to hear from you!
Hope all is well !
:)
I did the whole countertop rustoleum paint thingy before fifi ...

ReplyDeleteWe were thinking of using the rustoleum countertop stuff. I can't wait to see how your counter turns out. Love the pictures, as usual!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos they talk my Burlap language!!
ReplyDeleteThe COUNTERS you will love the finished look!
I have a friend and her husband was a little freaked about painting there beach front homes counters so she took on the job herself, it has a strong odor and dries to the toch in a couple of days, the outcome was well worth it. she said I wish I had not pondered it for 2 years a weekend job was the best time spent she said and a big savings in replacing all the old counter tops.
Will love to see the finished counters when you post :)
Have a perfectly peaceful time creating your lake house beauty!
xx

Laura, loved the wire basket and of course all the twine and ribbons.

PS. Putting the addresses on the side bar did not work.I truly tried.
i so enjoy reading your blog ... i would also be interested to know how the counter paint works out....living in the southwest, we had tile installed over the countertops and i must say, that after 7 years, i hate it....but....it may just have to stay that way for awhile....

That's the thing about renovations - they always take longer than you think :) I'm very excited for your "new" kitchen. I'm sure it's going to be fantastic, Laura.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that more often than not, home improvement projects take longer than anticipated. But all your changes sound so wonderful, Laura. Can't wait to see the reveal!
