How darling! I remember taking my daughter to get fitted for shoes when she was little. Of course, she hasn't worn buckle shoes in forever...sophomore in college.
Seems all little girls want a pair of red shoes at least once during childhood. My girl did, and as for me, I had to have red pappagallo's in high school <3 xx z
I LOVE OLD SHOES!!! I HAD ALL MY KIDS WEAR SADDLE SHOES!!!!! AND WHY??? I HATED THEM WHEN I WAS A KID!!! THE RED BUCKLE UPS:) LOVE HOW YOU DISPLAY ALL YOUR GOODIES!!!!
Those darling shoes have carried some sweet little feet along their way. Can't help but imagine what the child might have looked like that wore them. Who knows, maybe they were worn by more than one. I would say probably. The little red ones are my fav too! So cute!!
Dear Laura, I LOVE anything small and these little shoes are all so lovely. I love to imagine who wore them. Like everyone has said before me, I had a pair just like the red buckle shoes. I don't know if you have Clarkes shoes over there but, that's where my mum and dad bought our shoes and we bought our childrens shoes. .....but, I'm as interested in the gorgeous suitcases. I'm very into suitcases at the moment and bought an old, childrens one last week.I love the colour of yours. XXXX
How adorable! I can almost envision the precious children who donned those sweet little shoes and, in my mind, hear their innocent laughter, as they ran gleefully around the playyard. I, too, am drawn to children's vintage items, Laura. ;)
Have a beautiful week!

Oh, I had some red buckle shoes like that and have been semi-consciously trying to return to them ever since, I think! No doubt Freud would have something to day...
Oh how these little shoes remind me of my son's first pair of walking shoes. He is now in a size 13. I am a recent subscriber to your beautiful blog and I love reading your posts as they are delivered to my online mailbox...thank you and hugs Maryjane
I was in an antique market on Wednesday and saw a little pair of roller skates. Remember the one where you strapped the skates on to the bottom of your shoes? Made me think of this post. Ahhh...the good old days.
I really do love this post and all the images! Featured it today on my blog. Whenever you have time, please have a look at: http://Lapouyette-unddiedingedeslebens.blogspot.com Hope that you like it.
And I do hope that you will be not effected by 'Irene', what a terrible thing for everybody living in New York and near the East coast. Keep safe.

To live content with small means.... To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion.... To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich.... To study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly.... To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart.... To bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never.... In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.... ...........this is to be my symphony.
