I am not sure if I have ever shared this little
antique teddy bear with you.
He is very ,very old ...
and belonged to the great aunt of a family friend.
I found him in a box with some other old toys
when we helped clean out the attic.
He's a silly bear.
Here he is lounging about in a brown transfer ware gravy boat.
...wearing a bit of tattered lace as an ascot...
And here....posing with a tiny bisque doll.
This time of year,
I like to get out all my antique toys to use in my
Christmas vignettes.
It's my chance to play!
And speaking of playing...
I am off to Connecticut tomorrow to meet up with the girls for some fun and Christmas shopping at a few of my favorite shops.
I'm bringing my camera and hope to take lots of pictures to share.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
:)
What a precious bear....we never get too old to play with our toys! Have fun on your getaway!!
ReplyDeleteLove your little bear. He is just wonderful. Have fun shopping. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, is it a Steiff Bear? They are quite collectable. Either way He's a beauty! I have a small doll that was my Grandmother's and she's quite delicate. Every now and then I take her out and admire. Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog. Every time I come here and see your pretty photo to the side the little pots filled with periwinkle colored hydrangeas, I think it's one of the best online photos I've seen. Hugs tami
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful visit and please give Carole a huge hug for me please?

Hello Laura!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your teddy bear. I used to have one very similar to yours although mine was probably from the late 40's early 50's and when you pressed his tummy in and out he played Brahms Lullaby. Beautiful photo's ...as usual ;) Have a wonderful time in Connecticut...sounds like a wonderful place to shop!
