For years, one of my favorite places to stop and look for treasure is a shop on the way to the lake called The Red Barn.
This is a place where you really have to dig...
...and sift through...
But it's worth it.
And it's fun.
I found all those old wooden type numbers, letters and signatures here this summer...
...in two baskets under a table.
That was a happy day.
:)
There are antiques, handmade items, new items
and consignment items.
New things are brought in all summer long...
...and old things are buried in the dark corners...
After we closed up the lake house
I said goodbye to the Red Barn for the season.
Mr. Flea stopped on the way home and let me poke around one last time.
Sometimes, he's really good like that! :)
Sometimes, he's really good like that! :)
Good bye Red Barn...
Have a good winter!
Another weekend is approaching!
I will be attending Aunt's weekend at the University of Rochester.
Well, actually it's Parent's Weekend...
but I'm going too!
I can't wait to see my nephew Joe!
:)
Oh what fun! My kind of place. Wonderful photos. Enjoy your weekend, so wonderful that its Aunt's weekend too!
ReplyDeletePlaces like that are the so fun. Enjoy your Aunt's weekend too.
ReplyDelete~*~ Wow such treasures!!! Thanks for sharing~*Hugs,Rachel ;)~*~
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to dig! I could spend summers and winters in there!
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit this magical place!! The pictures have me in treasure heaven!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteWe would visit a barn similar to this during the spring and summer when we lived in Wisconsin. An older couple love to collect things and resell them. They lived on a pig farm and would let us browse through their barn filled with treasures. Our kids were not to sure of the pigs. Your pictures brought back memories.
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be my kind of place - wonderful. I wish something like that was around here!
ReplyDeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see you on the chat last night. Aren't those crazy? I feel like I am trying to follow five conversations at once...and I am! I just got on their by chance...and there it was.How nice you got to stop at the Red Barn. I love places like that! I just stopped at a junky little estate sale today and found adorable old pink and blue Christmas stickers, a darling primer and a flowered hat for a song. Then there was the jewelry....great crystal for reasonable prices, funky plastic flowers, and a Mexican watch...all waiting to be repurposed. So much fun! Wish I knew how to photograph these things as beautifully as you do!
Hugs,
Suz
