A Change of Scenery

I flew to Florida to spend some time with my parents yesterday.

As is our family tradition, my Dad drives directly from the airport to a little place on the Gulf called Sams.

Looking out at the water
the fishing boats and the seagulls
gently remind me that I have left the northeast.

It's not all bad!

A Margarita in a plastic cup is served along with crab cakes and chowder. Casual dining at its best!

I enjoyed the different varieties of Florida flowers
on my walk this morning.

A different sight than the tall towering pines of the north.
The Spanish moss looks so graceful...

This dapper Sandhill crane walked right across my path and out onto the golf course...

Of course I love the pretty blue Plumbago....

I am so happy to have the opportunity to spend time with Mom and Dad.
I hope to be able to do a bit of thrifting and perhaps a flea market or two while I am here.
I will certainly keep you posted!
Be well!
:)

Hope all is well, Laura. I have been a bit under the weather so I have missed some of your entries. Love the sand crane and the place looks nice and cozy and warm for your parents. Have a nice time with them!
Hugs,
Suz

I'm in Florida too! Our weather is a bit warmer than normal this weekend - just for you! I'm in Central FL and although we are 45 min from the beach and have palm trees we also have lots of oaks and pines, deer, bobcats...hard to believe! Enjoy your family and the thrifting!

Hello Laura! I follow your wonderful blog quite a while and always am amazed about the lovely things you show us!

Today I enjoyed the pics from Florida. As much as I enjoy the change of the seasons in Germany, I would love to hop over to my cousin (she lives there since...gosh...more then 30 years!!!) and flee the long, cold and grey winter.
But it is definitely too far away *sigs*

Thank you for your great blog which is fun and inspiration for me!
