Just a Few Finds
Do I need another vintage typewriter?
No, but the price was right so I took it home with me.
It comes with a nice little case...
...and I will most likely sell it.
...and someone tell me to stop buying all these old brass stencils!
I just can't resist the numbers and letters...
A nice collection of old bottles.
The one on the left is from a Druggist in Johnstown, N.Y. which is not too far from here and where some of my mother's family came from.
A while ago, I found a larger sized etched bottle very similar to the second from left ...What did these etched bottles contain?
We're having some little ones stay with us again over the July 4th holiday....
...thought these blocks would be fun.
A trio of turquoise pottery...
A trio of matte green craftsman era pottery...
And three of these Jack in the Pulpit dishes which match my Mom's set which we have here at the lake house.
That's all the pictures I was able to take before the heavens let loose and more rain fell!
I'm really hoping that tomorrow it will be sunny all day!
So today I did lots of cleaning, some gardening and a bit of art.
Playing with paper dolls, stamps and tags...
I haven't spoken with a single soul today...
It sure is quiet up here!
:)
Have a great weekend!
Have only seen 1 Jack in the Pulpit growing wild & that was as a youngster.
ReplyDeleteHave seen Lady Slippers growing wild up to a few years ago.
Where have these beautiful flowers gone. sigh!
You found some great finds! Don't stop buying the brass letters and numbers.. I LOVE them! And by the way I have two typewriters.. so I understand you completely!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finds! You are obviously enjoying the time away by yourself. Love the typewriter and brass numbers. How pretty is the turquoise pottery?!
ReplyDeleteEverything is great! I really love old bottles and these are perfect. And the pottery grabbed my heart!

The typewriter's red? I don't think I've ever seen a red one! Cool! Love the stencils and bottles, too. And the pottery. Everything.
ReplyDeleteI love those blocks! They have a wonderful look to them. I understand about typewriters or really anything that calls your name.
ReplyDeleteWow! Some really terrific finds, most of which I haven't seen the likes of around here in Texas. It's so fun to see the treasures others find in different locales! Have a lovely weekend. ~ Angela
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! Wonderful typewriter~ I've never seen one that color~ and the brass stencils and blocks...love them!
ReplyDeleteI don't think one can have too many old typewriters. I am always drawn to them (maybe it's the memories of my high school typing teacher drilling the typing skills into my brain).
ReplyDeleteI love the brass stencils too. I have a box of them that I need to do something with.
Enjoy the peace and quiet.
Jane
The turquoise pottery is beautiful. Brass stencils don't take up much room and if I told you to stop it would just make you uncomfortable next time you saw some at a good price...right? Enjoy what you love,

OK...NO...never stop buying a vintage typewriter that is priced right! I love a summer storm. I wish I was there with you!
ReplyDeleteSome things no matter how many you have when you see once a price that works for you it's simply a must have.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pottery, wonderful finds!!
ReplyDeleteKeep on collecting, my friend! I love to see your treasures on display in your blog! :-)

Wow! You lucky girl, that typewriter I would love to find one. How nice to not hear the phone ring and go junkin in peace. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Hmmm...etched bottles? I'm thinking they contained some very good scotch whiskey at one time! Not to my taste, however! LOL! But the empty bottle is pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds!
Diane
It seems that you´re enjoying your time. The photos of the lupines and the water are really nice.
ReplyDeleteLove your brass stencils.... Can understand that you bought the typewriter. It´s so hard to resist when the price is right!
Wish you a nice weekend!
Mia
Hey Miss Flea! How far are you from Boston? You should set up at the SOWA vintage market? Think I'll ever be successful at getting you to set up near me??:)

I love the letter blocks with no color! If you are selling those after the 4th let me know!

It sounds ike your weather is very similar to ours, Laura. We have had grey skies and rain for the past few days but, it should brighten up tomorrow. Typical British weather.
ReplyDeleteDon't ever stop buying those great stencils. I love them. I also love the bricks. I have some that spell the name of our house 'The Laurels'.
Enjoy the weekend, Laaura. XXXX
I would not resist that typewriter either...it would have been calling my name! You got some great finds!
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for typewriters too. I don't know what is about them. Maybe it's all the letters and thoughts that have been written with them.
ReplyDeleteLove the old typewriter! I did a post about my Daddy's old Smith Corona a couple of weeks ago. All of your finds are wonderful, but I especially like the etched glass bottles!
ReplyDeleteLove,

OMG I Love your typewriter! Good thing you didn't pass on that one! =)
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the Jack-in-the-Pulpit plate, Laura! I have those growing wild on my property here in Ohio and they are one of my very favorites. They are indeed getting more scarce it seems, so that makes them all the more special. Great post!

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteHaven't been by in a while...your finds are as fab as ever! I have been swooping up brass stencils as well (they are easier to store than typewriters :) I see you are going to Silver Bella, poop, cuz this is the first year I am not going. Well, you will have a great time! Does your sister still live in the Chicago area? Take Care!
:)Heidi
Ah...we love the same things!
